Oh, this is so nice... Lovely...<------ (being sarcastic) I don't know if I want to melt down and cry or go scream out the back door in anguish..... Just called NVC and found out that it is on "Administrative Processing." I have read that some people have been on Administrative Processing since May, as if the wait for USCIS isn't long enough of a wait to begin with (some more than others)... it feels like agony and the tears are really hard to keep in at the moment...

I am interested in positive uplifting responses if anyone has them. This whole long process from start to non-finish has a way of beating us all to a pulp before we even get to the actual visa opportunity stage. <Sigh>

The day my status changed to AP was actually the day the Consulate sent out P3. I didn't even realize NVC had already sent the file to the Consulate.

I called back really late and had spoken to a gentleman on the phone who said he sees no admin or additional processing. He says from what he can see, which is limited, is that the case is being geared up to the last mechanisms of preparing for the Embassy. Also, he said that last week was a holiday and it kind of has a slow down affect for a brief while. So hopefully we will hear good news on our case soon. :)

I also checked DHL waybill and late late today there was a shipment from NVC to our Embassy... I hope it is ours!

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

My fiance had an interview in Ankara (Turkey) about 3 months ago (in April) and she was put on AP and was told to check the website. We are still waiting and checking the site every single day. There was someone on this forum that was monitoring how many of the interviewed applicants in Ankara were being put on administrative processing (AP) recently. I guess he/she was checking the interview schedule of the embassy and then checking the status of the application after the interview date. If I remember correctly, he/she posted recently in this forum that 100% of applicants were being put on AP. I wonder if he/she is still monitoring the applications and interview outcomes. Whoever you are that was doing this, if you are reading my post, could you please post an update? I am very interested in knowing what percentage of applicants (mainly K1 and CR1 applicants) at Ankara embassy are currently being put on AP. Thank you so much.

PS. I am going to start monitoring the interviews myself from now just to get an idea how everyone else is doing on their applications and interviews.

I was tracking it but I stopped after my husbands interview on the 24th. I will try to update it and post back in a few days.

I do know that people with missing papers are put in AP till the papers were turned in. We were in AP for 1 week.

But for 3 weeks 100% of K1's were getting AP (May 20- June 6)

Dear JDBA

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Congrats on your approval and your visa. I noticed that on your timeline, you have August 3 as US entry date... I assume that means you have a flight ticket for August 3rd.... smile.png you two must be very very very excited!!!! I am very happy for you.

As you know, Iranian applicants have to go to another country for their interview (since US does not have any diplomatic relations with Iran). Turkey (Ankara) is the most popular place for Iranians to go for obtaining a US visa. The website posts AP numbers for both Turkish and Iranian applicants. What I find amazing is that so far I have not seen a single case number on the AP approved site that begins with ANK20135XXXXX. As you probably know, ANK stands for Ankara, 2013 is the year, the first three numbers after that are the day of the year plus 500 (for example 530 means 30th of January), and the last 3 numbers are the case number assigned for that day (random number). So if your case was received by the embassy on March 30th, your file number would be ANK2013590XXX. (590-500=90 meaning 90th day of the year.... March30). So far, this year, nobody not a single person has been approved for AP beginning with ANK20135XX. That means there is such a huge lag. I see some file numbers which start with ANK2013050XXX which I dont understand what they mean... since 050 is less than 500... do you or does anyone know what that stands for? I thought the number after 2013 always had to be more than 500. In this case 50! Can anyone shed some light on this?

one more thing,.... on the embassy website it says they will not respond to emails about AP for less than 6 months because most AP takes 3-6 months. Is that new? Or has it always said that and I have missed it? I hope it is more like 3 months and not 6 months. Ours has been 3 months and I just sent an email last week and no reply so far.

God bless everyone and I hope every single person on here gets to see their loved one soon. Thanks for reading.

Yes we have tickets to enter the US in Aug 3. :D And we are very excited.

Remember that the AP schedule is for people that were in AP and their case has finished or is scheduled to finish AP. Many people who have interviewed this year and received normal AP would not be on it yet. :( Plus there were many people who completed the NVC in Jan and Feb who didn't interview till June.

Also the NVC assigns the case number. So if you got a case number at the NVC Jan 1, (6 weeks to complete the NVC) case complete on Feb 12, (at least 2 mo wait for the interview) April 12. Now say they got AP. July 12 is 3 months, Oct 12 is 6 mo.. So see not many 2013's would show yet..

As for the 2013050xxx ... no idea.. Maybe there is something special about those cases.

As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the case numbers will be announced on our web page athttp://turkey.usembassy.gov/immigrant_admin_processing.html. This web page is updated every seven days.

You said there must be something missing... What was you missing from yours that they wanted? I called them today and was told that every application goes through additional processing, that my case is normal and that once they are done getting everything in order, it is assembled and packaged to go to the Embassy.

How long of a wait to you forsee others going through AP in the future? I really wish that NVC will hurry up and get busy with our case files, I really miss my love! And knowing we are so close to being together, just to be held up by technicalities that should have been done when USCIS had our files for how many months???

Anyway, I appreciate you posting this information, it is very useful and thank you!

jdba, congrats on your journey and getting the visa you much deserve and needed. Wishing you the best in life and keep us updated please. It gives us hope, the one's who are still waiting.

My file was not really "missing" any thing but they wanted a copy of my passports showing all entry/exit dates to Turkey. I had taken 2 trips there. Originally I sent a copy of my passport to the USCIS. But I only sent copies of my eticket and boarding pass plus receipts and pictures from my 2nd trip (in March) with my husband to his interview. I was really pissed since this is not required but this only held up his visa one week.

I know of another person who's interview June 3 and is still waiting. The embassy only told him to send "more proof". I am thankful they at least told us what to send.

I have never heard of AP before the interview. But I'm new to this. Hopefully this means you wont have to worry about AP after the interview.

All I can say is make sure you have lots of Proof at the interview. Specially if he plans to do his interview in Turkish. The Turkish lady at the embassy asks lots of questions and asks for lots of Proof. I sent 2 folders 1.5 inches thick each. Chat records, snap shots from skype, pictures, letters, cards, western union receipts, flower receipts, plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel receipts, pictures with his family, Plus pictures from our wedding. She looked at everything and asked questions about them. We practiced over 40 questions about me, my family and work. So my husband was ready. Just make sure he knows everything for the interview and is comfortable answering the questions.
