GZ/TM Case Turning Into a Kangaroo Court Prosecution

That would depend on if TM circled back and attacked him, or if GZ caught up to him. If TM circled back, it was a bad choice. He could have kept going and made it home. But no one knows for sure. Because GZ's actions caused TM to become hostile, it's not too far fetched that TM said to heck with it and decided to stand his ground.

We also don't know what was said or done when the two met, GZ said he didn't do anything to initiate the fight and TM just whaled on him. But earlier he was running after him. How far did he get before he decided to go look at road signs? How could TM sneak up behind him if he was fully aware that this kid was out there? Why didn't GZ run back to his car and get in? There are some things that don't add up.

Based on the testimony so far, I believe that TM was the aggressor with the physical stuff and he attacked GZ. I also believe that GZ was the one yelling for help before the shot rang out.

I wonder about that with this prosecutor, it seems he knew this was a lost cause from the beginning and appears to be just going through the motions.

You have to understand, without GZ going on the stand, testimony on both sides without any really hard evidence, and all the other problems, this would be hard for anyone to fight and win.

I am refraining from writing what I really think, trying to show some restraint.

Could be, if he felt reasonably threatned, he had a right to stand his ground. Had GZ tried a different approach, things would have gone down a different way.

I do understand that this is a very difficult case to win. There simply isn't enough to convict GZ, and honestly, I don't believe he is guilty of anything other than being overzealous(and a bit foolish) in his duties as neighborhood watchman.

I think if GZ would take the stand, his versions of the story would show that this situation could have been handled a different way. The problem is in the eyes of the law he didn't do anything wrong, he just made a bunch of bad decisions that led to a confrontation.

I completely agree with this. I keep thinking of something else to say, but this is good.

Blaming someones bad behavior on others, is a classic sign of denial. As I learned in a stress class. The only person that can affect how you feel about yourself is yourself.

Based on the evidence presented TM had no justification to attack GZ., and the state has not proven beyond even a little doubt that GZ was not acting in self defense.

It's a shame TM died. His choices lead to his own death. I was a bad kid and a miracle I turned out as ok as I did. A lot of Kids are stupid and make stupid choices at age 17.

I think all of us that have followed this , now see that the evidence to convict GZ is just not there.

All of us on both sides have gotten a little theatrical in presenting our opinions. Statements like he died for being black and we are dancing on a kids grave are just morbid, stupid and that kind of mentality contributes to many of the race problems we have today.

What I would like to see come from this, is that we can start to have some real discussions on race.

We have a serious problem with young blacks in this country dropping out of society and buying into the gangster life style. It is epidemic. We have over 60% high school drop out rate for young black males here, and they are making our county unsafe. We are scared and with reason. They account for 90% of the crime here.

On the white side of the equation, we have got to realize that we have been oppressors for hundreds of years, and that slavery/severe oppression did not effectively end in the deep south until the 1980's. We can't just say, " I never owned slaves" and not try to understand why many blacks feel the way they do.

Amen to this. Its amazing how people think that since they didn't actually own a slave, they're zero percent responsible for the hardships currently endured by blacks. Social segregation is a real thing in today's society. Something that us southerners still practice on a daily basis. I think a lot of it has to due with mutual dislike on both sides and its a real shame to see. Its hard to not be segregated when large groups of either side (usually the young ones) will actively harass individuals from the opposing side. It just keeps the mutual distrust/hatred rolling along.

First, they commit 90% where you live. By your account white people don't do anything wrong. I've posted a FBI chart that clearly shows whites commit way more crime in the US than any other race. The problem is that black are consistently used as the poster children for crime and welfare.

Here are the numbers:

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-43

I wish I could find one for last year, but look at this. Besides murder and gambling, there isn't even a close comparison. Yet in this day and age blacks said to be more dangerous.

Finally, remember a few weeks ago when you posted about the Glock block, you know the grannies who don't call 911, they have guns? Why is this acceptable, when TM didn't have a gun and maybe decided to face the man who was chasing him with his fists, and he is in the wrong?

I'm looking at that chart you linked to. Black people commit 28.4% of the total crimes in the U.S yet account for 12.6% of the population. The only crimes I could find on that chart where blacks committed less crime that their percentage of the population was DWI. Blacks accounted for 12.1% of DWIs.

I must be missing your point.

It goes a lot deeper than that. You have to see that being black is just a challenge within itself. If you follow the grain and act the way you are "supposed" to, you feed the negative stereotype. If you try to rise above it, you catch heck for it from both sides, black folks see you as a sell out, white folks see you as being arrogant. Not to mention that being a minority means that when person makes a mistake, it affects the race as a whole.

Wow, I've been on vacation for a week and things haven't changed. Since it's Ramadan I'll keep it simple for you:

He was a child walking home from the store, what else was he doing? If being high on weed makes you violent, please link proof of this. THC can stay in your system for days, and even if he was smoking before he went to the store, does that make it alright? And a grown man following a 17 year old at night? I would call that creepy, but I guess you think it's perfectly normal.

And cracker? This makes him violent? What about these a******* always get away? Or f****** goons or coons, however you want to look at it? What does that say about Zimmerman's frame of mind?

All the the guys were jumping on GZ as he racist coz he called TM black kid on the phone but at the same time TM called GZ Creepy Cracker.... that is not racist is it?

Ohh so now it does not matter he had THC in his blood... he is still a innocent kid as portrayed by media?

Why was he thrown out of the school?

So him calling GZ cracker does not make him violent but TM calling him black makes TM violent you are so rational.
