yip do what you can

you may or may not be able to file a service request; definitely get an elected official involved; begin a omnibudsman complaint (on uscis site); and go for an infopass.. the infopass is where you will get the best answers

the biggest problem is your local office which most likely has your file. you are subject to their workload. even if you get an elected official involved, it doesn't usually affect the process on the local office level, but there have been a few success stories.

all I can say is INFOPASS

on a side note, you have researched ap for your country already .. yes?

Yes i did. Im on AP for visitor visa since feb5 i guess by the time i get the noa2 the name check will be done already hopfully

yeah new jersey is a busy office too

you can try the service request, but if your office hasn't gotten to it yet, that doesn't help. a congressional or representative inquiry can sometimes give them the ####### they need.

it is good that you have already gone through ap for the tourist visa, it should shorten the ap time when you go for the other one

Thank you all for the recommendations and helpful info. Infopass is ruled out...I got this message when trying to set an InfoPass appt in Jordan:

At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later.

So my next move will be to contact congress or senate and see what happens from there. I Know the Newark office in my state (I am the wife/Petitioner usually my husband posts on forums) is a nightmare so its discouraging... I am now in Jordan with my husband until approval time and all I can do is pray the odds aren't against me. AP may take long, but since my husband did apply for a tourist visa so he can meet my family in person when he was working in South Africa (and yes it was clearly stated that the I-130 was in process so no funny business intended) it was put on AP since February still no word on it but I am crossing my fingers it helps with timing on the I-130 as Stevie b stated. *sigh*

yeah that infopass system is tough.. the no appointments happen quite frequently.. I was able to get one if I tried again later that day.. I also got one by going into the site first thing in the morning or by going into the system on a Monday morning

good luck, hope you get through this quickly

I filed for a permanent green card for my husband so I'm assuming that is a IR1 visa and not a CR1 since we have been married for almost 3 years now (anniversary next month). After our first case took entirely too long and there were all kinds of mistakes being made by the USCIS (like randomly changing my address, thinking my husband was in PA, etc.) I came to live in Jordan and I've been here for about 2 years now. I wanted to apply from the Jordanian embassy which required me to be here for a full year before applying and now our case has been going on since January. Our embassy interview was actually a day after yours, February 6th and we were told we were approved; no ap or anything like that. Then an hour later we receive a phone call which in a nutshell said "Hey you're on ap now, give us some more information and you can check your case on this site." It's been over 5 months now and nothing. I've emailed the embassy a few times but they just send me a pre-written letter each time. I would suggest calling them because you can usually get through to an officer more directly that way. But if your case is processing through the USCIS and not the embassy they will be of very little help. There's also a way for you to call the Department of State as well for the AP issue but honestly they just read you what's on the site. Contacting ombudsman is a good idea because they actually help you out a lot in terms of giving you actual information and not just a pre-written letter. Here's the link: http://www.dhs.gov/ombudsman-case-assistance

It's definitely a frustrating process and I can totally relate to your experience thus far. I hope you're enjoying your time in Jordan, I know how hard it can be to adjust and I just realized you're from Jersey (me too!) but if it makes you feel any better I've lived here for 2 years now and still speak no Arabic haha. Praying we both get this AP thing approved soon!
