Hi do you know if you can get the medical done before you get the NOA2 just to be ready?

No, you cannot. You can't book your medical until you have your LND number, which you don't get until you've been approved and had your NOA2. This response is assuming you are enquiring for yourself and that you are going via London.

Ah, okay. Even still, I suspect it will be tricky to get a medical booked without the case number for Germany.

Hi there! Well, they actually asked me for my case number to put it on the final file they will send at the end of the week, so I guess the answer would be no. However, I've read they accept people to get their medical before having a case number (I think it's the case for fiancé visas), so you can always ask. Usually the results are valid for 12 months.

They asked me for our case number but we didn't have it and it wasn't a problem. But regardless, you shouldn't do your medical until you're approved because your medical results go to the Department of State. They don't have your information yet. They are different from who you're currently dealing with, the USCIS.
