Tracking the Passport Status online

So my parents had their interview last June 3. On the ceac.gov tracking it says that their visa status is "ISSUED". I also emailed passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com to check on the status of their passport last Friday June 5th and it says "passport is still with post". Then earlier today it changed to "The current status of your passport is Origination Scan" .Then I checked again after few hours and it says" The current status of your passport is picked up" And this evening, I checked again and it was back to "Passport is still with Post". How accurate is the information? It seems this tracking email is not reliable at all. Gives confusion to everyone.
