I was just reading someone else's post and I think I forgot to send in a copy of my birthday certificate with my husband's AOS package!!!! Will this cause an RFE?

I know that I sent all of that with my husband's K1 package back when we did that. But I didn't remember to send one with the I-864 form this time.

HELP!?!?!

OMG! And I think I filed the old I-864! NOT THE NEW ONE THAT WAS UPDATED IN MARCH 2013!!! OMG I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO! I am freaking out!!! I really don't have another $1070 to have to refile! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! OH NO! :'(

You may get an RFE. It isn't the end of the world. I highly doubt you'll need to re-file. Just be patient and wait for the RFE. I am at the 9th month wait for my Green Card and nothing yet! So if you DO get an RFE, when it comes to waiting 9-10 months, what's another couple of weeks?

You don't need your birth certificate if you are the sponsor and you already sent it with the I129F. It's all there in the instructions for the I864.

Thanks everyone! I did end up calling USCIS information center because I was going to have a panic attack. They actually said to me because I went the route of K1 first, the I-864 form isn't even really necessary because I did all of that on the I-134 form that was given to the consulate in Canada.

So I think we're good.

Lol, whoever you spoke with was an idiot. You most certainly need the I-864. Beware becoming a victim of the "misinformation line."

I agree with Harpa, but you def don't need the birth cert (unless it's for a joint sponsor).

Oh I know that it's needed. I told her this. But I just wasn't sure if they would accept the OLD form or if I'd get an RFE for a new form because they redid the whole I-864 form in March and I had printed it out before hand. So I don't know. We will wait and see. I'm sure it will only be an RFE and not a denial.
