We did a walk-in to redo my wife's biometrics. The Tampa Field Office is always crazy busy. The wait was horrible, but I had already taken the time off work and got a baby sitter, so we had to deal with it. We got to the office at 8:05 am. The waiting room was packed. Finally at around 11 am her number was called. She told the man doing the finger printing that this was the second time we had to do this so please be careful. And he snaped at ther telling her that it is not their fault, its the FBI's fault they cannot read her finger prints. My thoughts were there has to be a reason they cannot read her finger prints. Hopefully this is the last time we have to deal with the Tampa Field Office for a while.

Sorry to hear that - hopefully the FBI will be able to read her finger prints this time.

FYI my approval letter was sent from my local office and not in California where it was transferred from. Good luck to everyone!!!

Hello, I'm a July filer with some information to pass along to the August folks...

Looking at the pattern of approvals, there obviously is no computer-controlled scheduling or any other form of strict queue or regulatory process controlling the flow of cases within a given month. USCIS is stuck in the bad old days of manually processing paper files, and approval time is a crapshoot. This is true not only of the July 2013 approvals, but also the prior month's. There are original CSC people from June 3rd, June 13th (with EARLY BIO) and June 17th who are STILL waiting!!!

Looking at the June group's messages, the approval letters (and presumably the approval decisions as well) are coming from regional offices (the VA office for a WV applicant, the Atlanta office, etc.) rather from CSC. Unfortunately, the online system doesn't tell you whether your case has been sent to a regional office or not, so it's hard to track regional offices and their speed or lack thereof. In theory, it should be possible to assemble the territories of each regional office and infer their processing speed - if VJers start reporting the identity of their regional office along with their approval dates.

Going back to the May filers, they are at 95% for CSC and 61% for VSC (multiple applicants from 4/30 and 5/1 are STILL waiting!). Going back to the April filers, they are at 73% for CSC and 69% for VSC (people from 3/29 and 4/1 are STILL waiting!) 2016-05-27 Notification: "In Line For Oath Ceremony"

2016-06-17 Naturalized (with a name change) by Judicial Ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, FL!

Hey guys i just approved for my ROC. Wasn't expecting this to happen till next month but I'm not about to complain. Got my approval letter today. but my approval date was 10/21/13. Thank you VJ. See you next year for Citizenship!!!

Is it normal for the receipt number and the application number to be different on the i751?

Yes, the NOA1 reference number is different from the Biometric letter. And it is the Biometric one that will be used to track the online progress.

Thanks you for a detailed explanation. I agree that the actual transfers looks like are from the actual local offices but we can draw conclusion only after we get more cases reported.
