Dan C - What is the date on your Green card ? According to your timeline - you received your green card in Dec . That means that you filed before the 90 days . Just an observation - If you recieved your green card in dec , it means you should have filed in sept . Hope all goes well with yr petition .

Richie Rich -- the date on the green card is November 12th. We received the physical green card in December, but my wife did her POE using the temporary CR-1 stamp in her passport on November 12th, 2011. Therefore, we should be inside the 90-day window.

I have a question. Once I get the biometrics appoinment letter, how early I could try walk in instead of waiting until the day of my appointment date? Will this have any effect(speed/slow) on my application? Also can I go to a different ASU than the one that will be listed on the Biometrics letter? Any adivse would be greatly appereciated.

You will need the Biometric letter, a valid photo ID & Alien Registration Card (Naturalization applicant) or Passport (others), so you can walk in anytime after you receive your Biometric letter. Try to find out the least busy day of your center and you should be fine. No cell phones, cameras and recoding media is allowed inside.

I don't recollect seeing in any thread of anyone doing it - you can be one of the first ones to try it. Let's know the outcome - remember to take passport also.

By the way I tried checking the case status using the reference number from the biometric letter and the system didn't recognize it yet - probably will after the biometrics are done. Let's know if any others have similar or different experience.

Did anyone that received Biometric letter, try to check the case status using the 13 character reference number from the letter. I tried in vain, probably as the biometrics weren't done but am not sure. Share your experience if it is different - meaning if the system recognized the reference number.

Thank you Navyk. I will try going to a different ASU(Once I receive the Biometrics letter) and keep everyone posted about the outcome.

Anybody get their biometrics letter is a white piece of paper? I know its usually green with the little statue of liberty in the background but mine just came in a white background. Did anybody else get it the same way?
