This is debated here on VJ quite a bit. As a K-1 visa holder you MUST receive a 2 year GC and then file for ROC. However, being married for more than 2 years allows one to get a 10 year GC. This is one of those catch-22 in the CFR. If I were you, I would make an INFOpass appointment to see if you received the correct GC. If you fail to and were expected to file for ROC, 10 year GC not with standing, then your LPR status would be revoked and you would be placed into deportation proceedings. Then you would have to file for a spousal visa and start all over again--you could file the I-130 and the I-485 together to do the AOS maybe. The USCIS will hold YOU responsible for THEIR mistake and it is YOU that will suffer the consequences. So be pro active and make certain you have the correct GC and make damn sure you get that in writing.

Good luck,

Dave

Its 3 years of LPR status, since you came over on a K1 visa you didn't have LPR status until 2012.

I am sorry I didn't read you question correctly I was thinking that you was talking about becoming a citizen. I quoted wrong my mistake sorry.
