a Simple question...is it Normal for the 20 day wait after sending in checklist to the NVC and as in normal I MEAN do most people have that long of a wait?..Pls don't say call NVC I know to do that I JUST want to know the average..Like 15 out of 20 people have waited for case closed LONGER then the 20 day wait?

20 days is the average wait with no RFE. I happened to have an RFE and mine took 27 days total to case complete. My RFE was sent overnight as well and I believe it delayed by 1 week.

Thank you..we had an RFE as well and sent what they needed right away. Gonna call NVC Friday to see if anything is going on and if they got the RFE that's all I want to know is..Did they get the mail in case something happened to it and will re-send it :)

I got my RFE exactly 13 days from the date they received my packaged. Mailed it overnight on the 14th day. They received the RFE on the 15th day. And case was complete exactly 12 days (not business days - total days) from the date they received the RFE. 27 days total. :) Hope that helps.

TY...:)..We sent the RFE back on 11 June..so it should be there but no word and Im Just anxious because NVC was very quick with all the other things..I wish I knew what the hold-up was and did they get my mail back..so when I call them this Friday they better have an answer or do an inquiry into this..

Remember when counting days, count 20 business days, not 20 days. Do not include weekends or holidays.

Also you can call and request to speak to a supervisor about the checklist review.

I know 20 business days and No you cant speak to a supervisor yet...all they are is telephone operators..No help other then tell me to wait..and tomorrow will be 20 business days and no I didn't add the 4th of July that's 21..will call tomorrow..

How did you send the RFE back? Did you overnight? Or did you add any tracking info? I did overnight which is tracked automatically and that is how I made sure they received it.

totally frustrating yes.. will they give you confirmation they received it? no .. you have to wait for their next communication

you can keep trying for a supervisor.. you will eventually get someone to help you, but what you are asking for is outside their normal routine

there are no special phone numbers to call sorry

No he Just sent it priority Like he did before..and it got there first time..This sux..and to watch other people getting their embassy dates already is driving me crazy!.the embassy he has to go to is in Sweden and I KNOW they are not that busy so to get an Interveiw in..Just sick over all this waiting now.There is no reason they took my money fast and now they slow it up...*sigh*..Ill call them 10x a day now as Im impatient

On the receipt from the post office you should have a tracking number for priority mail. USPS tracking is free with priority mail and the tracking number is on the receipt if you still have it. I am sorry I don't have any other input for you except call every day this week. I totally feel what you are going through. I am also still in the waiting game but for an interview now. This sure is a LONG process!

things don't change that fast at nvc.. you are better off calling once in the morning and once at night.. its also easier to get through close to closing time on their end 12am eastern

the next time you hear anything via phone call should be case complete and then you will be back to the waiting game for the interview date assignment

Thank you..My biggest concern is..He sent his original BC and cannot..NO way get another as its handwritten in a church..Im just sick over this....I need them JUST to say..YES we have received your mail..thats it..I don't care how long it takes for a case close..JUST tell us..did you get the Docs...

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
