We had our interview on 7th JULY, Sunday at Dhaka US Emb, guess what its an AR/AP :(

Our Interview scheduled at 7:45 am. We were escorted by a security personnel to the locker, where we put our cellphones, and then scanning area, then a walkway to the final waiting room. Three rows of long benches, and eight numbered doors in that room. We were seated, and just at 7:45 am one lady called from Door # 5 asked all applicants to submit the interview letter. She ripped off the first page and returned the rest and told us to wait until they call us.

After 30 mins of waiting, they started calling one by one to submit the papers. I was called in window #1, A Bangladeshi lady (little grumpy) asked me to hand over my passport and returned my original civil docs. Took my finger prints, Left-Right-two thumps. Asked whats my spouses name- I answered. Then said, go have a seat, we will call you again. I asked, do i have to provide any docs, she replied "NO we have everything we need".

After waiting one hour,We were called at the Window # 7, at around 9:30 am. CO was a white american, very friendly and very quick. He speaks pure Bengali with an amazing Bangla accent, and did not use a single English word! As soon as i entered he started speaking in Bangla, and said " keep your right hand up and take a oath with me bla bla ... " then told me to sign in DS-230 form. While i was doing it, he was typing something and then asked "What does your spouse do in US"- I answered. Next question " Do u have a wedding photograph"- showed.

CO: "Congratulations, your immigration visa petition process has been completed but we have some pending work to do and when we are done with it, we will contact you" - Then he hand me over a blue sheet (blue never looked that bad in my life) wrote case number on it, endorsed a seal "Administrative Review- We will contact you as soon as we get the result" under the section 221(g).

Me: Do you need any documents?

CO: No, we have everything in order and we are keeping your passport with us. Please do not worry, Please do not feel bad, We just have some pending work to do, and we will contact you very soon. Have a good Day.

This whole things took only 1-2 mins max, as he was so fast asking and replying.

So, frenz, say something now!

UGGHHHH so frustrating. I'm so nervous for my husband's interview in 2 days. Though, from what you've shared of your experience it sounds like there were no red flags, just the standard AP time suck. I would call them every day and bug the heck out of them. There's nothing else to do at this point than to wait for them to call you back in.

I'm sorry to hear about the AP sad.png. It seems like this is becoming the most common outcome of the interviews. I'm also getting worried about our interview. I know it must be very frustrating right now but I would stay upbeat. From the way your CO sounded, it will probably be a short review. Hope you hear some good news very soon.

So far this didn't sound something to worry about. However, I thought you would be prepared for AP/AR by now. Except for one recent exception, I've seen all the male applicants going through this process, and these days even few females were subject to this review process.

The only thing you can do at this moment is wait. Make it a habit of making a call once a week to find the status of your application. Even if your USC spouse tries to contact an US senator or congressman, the max they can find out is "it is under AP". There isn't any standard waiting time and can take 2 weeks to more few months. However your response from the CO was quite positive.

My suggestion, relax an start making plan for the next step :-). Once you have the visa in hand you may not have enough time for many things, so use this time wisely ;-)

Bea of luck and thanks for sharing your experience in detail, which most of us forget to do. This definitely helps others....
