Hello! I am Cha, turning 30yo next month. Single but i have a boyfriend for more than a year and we are getting married in 2015. He just proposed to me :-) He is based here in Manila, Philippines. I have been wanting to visit my Aunt (old maid) who is living in California for 3 decades now. She is 65yo and about to retire soon and go back to the Philippines for good by next year. I wanted to take this opportunity to go to the US in December 2013 for tourism while my Aunt is there as she owns condo units where i can stay during my visit. Ofcourse i have to plan for this trip thats why am saving money although i know if course my Aunt will shoulder some of the expenses includinf plane tickets. I have been working since 2004 and currently working for an IT company for 2 years now and recently got promoted with $1163 base salary per month. i can say that am stable financially because i have enough savings at the bank. am planning to have a 1 month stay in the US. Fortunately, i have enough vacation leaves, holidays combined to accomodate such long leave. I know i have to prove strong ties to Philippines? Can i say the above circumstances despite the fact that am at the working age?i dont have properties under my name. Althought last year i applied for a loan which i pay on staggered basis until 2014. Please help me.

Thanks

There is not program you can put in your data and it will spit out a number.

Your many issue is that you are from a country where the pay is not that good and many before you have abused the visa privilege. And you seemingly fit the profile of the most common abusers.

You seem to understand the issues, you have nothing to lose in applying except the fee.

You won't know til you try. I'm a single 28 y/o from the Philippines too and I have a (very) small online business and I was given a 10 year multiple entry visa. I didn't think I'll get an approval but I did. Worth the shot.

I think you have a decent chance. Bring information about your engagement and job. Be sure and stress that your fiance lives in Phillapeans, your job is there and your aunt will soon return. I think your chances are much better that someone with a fiance or permanent family in USA. Worst case scenerio you lose $140 fee.

Thanks everyone for your responses! i appreciate you and took note of your advices. Am planning to apply for a leave as early as now in my company.. (i can retract it anyway if in case i am not able to obtain a visa) and have it included in my certificate of employment. There's mo harm in trying so i guess ill take this chance. yeah its now $160.. ill never know until i try, right? With regard to my engagement, do they look at the pictures? should i bring them or show them my engagement ring? hehe but kidding aside, i have no docs yet for that as we are still discussing about the exact date, venue, etc. :-)

Btw, i didnt mention earlier that i also have stamps in my passport when i went to thailand and Singapore 2 years back. I went back on time, ofcourse.
