Hi Everyone!

I'm a newbie here. A friend just told me about this website, and I it seems very informative and helpful. I would love to get your thoughts on my situtation...

I am a non-US ctizen married for 5 1/2 years to a US citizen. Our 5 year old daughter is also a US citizen (through CRBA - Consular Report of Birth Abroad, she also has a blue passport). We used to live in the Philippines, but are now currently in Guam, where I entered using my b1/b2 tourist visa (which I've had since I was a baby and been travelling to the US frequently for vacation).

We came to Guam a month ago for the holidays and to spend time with our relatives here. 2 weeks in on our vacation, hubby decided he wanted to try out working here on the island. I said sure, why not... So he sent in some resumes. (I, however, am still employed at a company in my home country). Hubby also tried his luck to see if there were still any kindergarten slots for our daughter. This good school he was eyeing still had a few slots, so he decided to enroll our daughter.

I am supposed to be going back home to my country by next week. However, I missed my period, and I just found out that I am pregnant with our 2nd child. My husband and I therefore decided it would be best if I stayed on the island with them as well as give birth here. This is where the Adjustment of Status comes in.

We would like to apply for AOS and I just wanted to find out how you guys find our situation? Are our chances of getting approved high? We are currently deciding whether we should get an attorney or do it on our own? Do you guys think our case is doable enough to work on our own?

Any insight would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

:)

i say file the big AOS set this week, and don't leave till you have the greencard in hand.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You should start your own topic instead of posting under someone else's - you'll also get more responses and faster that way, usually.

Affidavits from family members about your marriage and relationship are fine, and you can get a formal letter from your wife's brother about the living situation - but you'll need to come up with more than that. Are there any joint bills, insurance, retirement plan, life insurance? Any credit cards or a joint phone plan?

You'll have to send more than affidavits and photos. The bank account is good, and you should send statements that show you both use it regularly - but it won't be enough on its own.
