I think its standard procedure to give the jury the impression that this defense thinks its so obvious that the trial shouldn't even continue.. I am basing that off my extensive knowledge garnered from Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

I flip-flop on this case. If either of these people had been reasonable in there reactions this could have been avoided - it's like the two idiots in a bar that finally find each other. They always count on the other person to diffuse the situation.

He was walking home from the store. If I were a child and some grown man would start following me I wouldn't confront him, you don't know what his intentions are nor do you know if he is armed or not. But the one thing we will never know is if GZ caught up with him, or if TM sneaked him.

If the prosecution really had no case, why was the motion for acquittal denied?

from what I read that is a procedural move to strengthen an appeal case, and is very very rarely granted.

TM wasn't a "child" so let's get that out of the way. 17 year olds aren't children.

That being said, the fact that there's so much "we will never know" creates a good deal of reasonable doubt as to Zimmmerman's guilt. He's going to walk.
