Hi all - a couple questions here.

1. My wife has two address, a permanent one (her family) in the country and a temporary one in the city that she lives at to go to school. All of our paperworks (marriage cerfiticate, etc.) have her permanent address listed, my question is which address do I put on G-325A and I-130.

2. My second question is how do I translate this rural address into number street name, city/province, country. My mind is blown away that they can find anyone with no house number or street name :)

Lol google maps has all of Vietnam on it but yes it doesn't work with addresses unless it is big establishments.

I know my fiancé's address and can walk to her house from the hotel but forget finding it or the hotel on the map.

I spent hours and hours trying to accomplish this

There has to be mail delivered to her house at some point. Have her get a piece of mail and copy the address from that.

My wife had the same issue. We wrote "see attachment" where the form indicated "Street and Number", and "Tinh Thua Thien Hue" where the form indicated "Province or State". On the attachment sheet, I made a section titled "Applicant's residence last five years", and wrote:

Tay Tri Nhon Hamlet

Phu Thuong Burrough

Phu Vang District

Thua Thien Hue Province

Vietnam

There was one postal messenger assigned to the neighborhood she lived in, but he didn't actually go out and deliver anything. She had to stop by his house and check periodically to see if she had any new mail. Anyway, an address that identifies the hamlet or commune will generally get the mail to the local messengers house. The messenger will usually (but not always) know the addressee by name.

This system goes way back to feudal times, and it's been sufficient because people most people outside the cities rarely receive mail in Vietnam.

We need to adopt this system in the US. Wouldn't it be great not to get any mail!!!! idea9dv.gif

Hi All Vn Vjs,

Just use what ever you have, because there are many places in Vn, rural areas, do not have house # or street' names. However, people in rural areas usually know each other from 10 miles away. So, it's not difficult for them to deliver mails. Make sure any time you get a mail delivered to you, you get to give the guy/girl some coffee money, so next time they will get it for you very quick. Does not mater you like it or not, but this is the way of life in Vn. Good Luck!!!!smile.png

Thanks for the response everyone. Another question, if she presently maintains two addresses, one temporary and one permanent, which should I list as the present address? She travels back and forth all the time.

List the address where you want the correspondence from the consulate to be sent. Be sure to list the other address on the G-325A. Again, you can add an attachment page if necessary to explain why the dates overlap.
