This Panama Embassy update on 5/28/2013 verify's that this is possible. I am a lawful resident of Panama and so is my wife of 3 years

The VisaJourney page is incorrect.

As I explained to you in your other thread (and provided links) the USCIS Field Office is now closed in Panama so DCF is no longer available to you.

I will send the page admin a request to correct this.

Sorry I do not believe that, as VJ link says update was May 2013. DCF is open only for Panama residents. You are incorrect I believe. Sure the field office is closed Feb 2013 but has nothing to do with service provided to Panama residents like me. I wrote them so I will have their answer in a few days.

So you trust a VJ page that was updated by a user over the USCIS's own page? I cannot tell if the update that was done in May on that VJ page related to DCF filing or some other aspect of the page.

The USCIS page is very, very clear. There is no DCF in Panama. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=1f0916cb6f14e010VgnVCM1000000ecd190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=1ac900c262197210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD It even says:

Residents of Panama will need to follow existing procedures for all petitioners residing in countries that have no USCIS offices: Form I-130 must be filed with the USCIS Chicago Lockbox. More filing information is available

I think you're going to be disappointed. Sorry.

Yes I am going to be disappointed. It appears I am wrong. We will file with Chicago and do the interview in Panama. Apologies to everyone.

I was wrong and I can not file a DCF. The attorney was correct and I was not. I apologize to all for my hard headiness.
