Any facebook experts here? I need a little help

Near as I can figure, my girlfriend had a friend create a facebook account for her before she left Thailand. Now she is trying to log in and she is getting a mismatch on personal data like birthdate. My best guess is the "friend" entered the data wrong. We have no idea how to correct it. Trying to create a new account returns an error of account already exists.

I never go on facebook. I don;t know anything about it. How can we either correct the data mistakes, or create a new account?

Remember the date format is different in Thailand (and the rest of the world) from the U.S. US it is MMDDYYYY. Everywhere else it is DDMMYYYY. Not sure if that's it.

well, they provide flyout menus. the format is pre-set. The birth date seems to be the hang up, but nobody seem to remember what was entered. Any attempt I make at creating a new account results in a message saying this name already has an account. to claim this account enter your birthday. Kinda stuck in a loop here.

Use a different email address to create a new account. Then contact facebook to remove the first account.

You may want to use a PC to do this. If you are using a phone app, you may be stuck with the email account associated with that phone, for instance, Android defaults to your Gmail account.

Also, on a PC, you get more options than on a phone app.

I would delete the account the friend made and create another one.

OR find an option that asks for a different validation method.

If she's never used it though, it would just be simpler to delete it.

other ideas:

-- Did the friend use her birthday by mistake?

-- Can someone look her up on that profile and see what birthday is set (if they can see it)?

Unfortunately you can't delete the account if you can't log into it. Create a new email address for her and create a new facebook account with that address.

CITIZENSHIP: 

Biometrics appointment for 2020-03-27 has been cancelled until further notice as all field offices are closed because of COVID-19.

***NOA dated 12/10/2020 USCIS stated they are able to reuse previous Biometrics***

Interview was easy. My hubby's Oath Ceremony is scheduled for February 25th. I can't watch >sad< but happy he is getting his certificate!

Yes. Did you try anything I suggested? Can you see the other profile and see the DOB?

There are a few options for resetting the p/w.

The main one is having the reset sent to the registered email address.

Also, can't she ask the friend who set it up for help? Most likely one of the problems she's facing (that I did) is that she's trying to log on from a different country. Ask a friend or family member to attempt to login from the home country and do the password reset from there. It should be easier.

well, she was using her facebook account before the pond jump -

what's preventing her from using the same account, at the moment?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
