This is what quote I got for her so far.

To recap, your wife, Lily is a Columbian citizen and needs worldwide medical coverage including the U.S. Below are quotes for 29 year old female. By having her coverage start before she turns 30, you will save some premium this first year. Next year, it will go up some.

The Azimuth Meridian plans are available online at: http://www.onlineglobalhealthinsurance.com/azimuth/

I was not allowed to use the image extension to show the prices but here is the company.

This insurance quote was before we decided to immigrate to the US. It does not cover full time in the USA. I will have to do more research on a policy for her living in the USA. Some company I assume will sell it. She is healthy and young so hopefully the cost and coverage will be reasonable.

Any suggestions on what to do or where to buy Insurance for her would really be appreciated.

That helps, when you mentioned Medicare I assumed she would be much older.

She doesn't until she has her green card, Am I confusing people on this web. We are applying for cr-1 visa or direct consular filing... how did I give the impression she could get residency without insurance? Am I doing something wrong with my communications. Or are people reading what they want into my posts. Sorry I am just over reacting

Yes, you gave a few long speeches about how hard you worked to live in Panama permanently and how you don't want to live in the US and how great Panama is, and something weird about insurance.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Yes I did, but things change. I was shot in a robbery and I now realize how important good health care is. Panama has great health care but its not cheap either and medicare does not work there.. Just time to change countries where I feel it is safer. My wife can't work in Panama with the visa she has. She plans to be a flight attendant where the insurance comes with the job. In the meantime I need to buy her a policy.

My wife speaks and writes English (perfect), Spanish, Portuguese and French. She has a lovely smile and very congenial. She will have no trouble getting a job.

Interesting Panama is shown as 95th, the US 37th in quality..

USA is No 1 in cost, Panama 53rd.

USA!

The ranking in Panama may be just the public hospitals which have had some problems. Paitilla Medical Center and John Hopkins are private. They are excellent but unaffordable to the general populace.

Cost in the Public hospitals are fairly low, but the private ones are not. With some of the deaths that have happened in the Public hospitals they would not be my choice for medical care.

Thanks for the figures.

So like a cheaper version of the US?

The issue with your first post is that you mentioned wanting to be in the US for medicaid, so people took from what you decided to stay now.

The issue with health insurance for your wife is that she will not be elligible for 5 years even as a greencard holder, and may not be elligible at all if she does not pay into the system for ten years, or buy into it.

THat is not true. The OP wife can use his work history to qualify for Medicare and Social Security once she is age 65. As long as she has a greencard she is good. As far as insurance for her until then as a LPR she will be eligible for temporary insurance for up to a year(about 100 per month) and then she can buy insurance on the exchange and you will get a subsidy for her based on your retirmement income. OP you may want to check, medicare can be used in some foreign countries if they are willing to file the claim. If you have one of the supplements C-J they can be used in foreign countries. Check into it.

let see 29+36=65 so yes 36 years.

Just so you understand that rule was put in place for housewives whi never held a job outside the home. As long as your husband worked 40 quarters a spuse can have SS and medicare through him when she turns 65.

I think she gets it sooner if I am dead and I don't plan on living 36 year more, best guess 30 years.

She will be getting a job I would guess and hopefully insurance will be provided.
