Hi everyone,

My spouse and I just moved to a new residence and per USCIS guidelines, I tried to file the change of address form online and have run into a major issue.

For someone in my situation (and applies to most of us on here) - who has a pending case, you have to file the AR-11 in 2 parts. The first part is just the standard change of address (your old address, your new address etc). The second part is to update your pending case file where you enter your receipt number and a few other details.

On the second page, it has a drop down menu for who is filing the application for change of address (Applicant or Petitioner, Legal Representative). Since I am the applicant i select Applicant or Petitioner and complete the rest of the form. I hit submit and it asks me to fill the Legal Representative names and details which I left blank since it didnt apply. I then fill NA (not applicable) in the blank sections and hit submit. BUT it says since I selected Applicant or Petitioner, I didnt need to fill in LEgal Rep details. Now I am stuck with no way to submit the form

Any one go through the same? Suggestion pls

Try using a different internet browser. I had this same problem a few months ago when I changed my address and if I remember correctly after switching to internet explorer it worked.

The last time we had to change our address, we decided to fill out and print the AR-11 and I-865 after I had tried different browsers and none worked. The post office is only half a mile away from us so it was easy to drop off the two separate envelopes.

Just be thankful that you do not have to submit all these forms in punch card format. Could you image trying to find a puch card printer nowdayswhistling.gif . Now THAT would be OLD SCHOOL.

How can you continue the 2nd part without having to go through the 1st part again? I submitted the AR-11 standard form but I had to find my receipt number from my NOA so I didn't complete the 2nd part. Now I try to get back to the 2nd but seems like I have to go from the standard AR-11 all over again. Does anybody know?

Thank you!

How do we know there isn't a bunch of gnomes in an underground office somewhere printing all of these forms, manually creating punch cards, then feeding the cards into a reader? Can we at least say it's possible?

I had the exact same thing happen when I was having issues paying my cell phone and cable TV bills online. Not just the USCIS. You'd think they'd learn.

Maybe THAT'S Step 2! They're taking our underwear and burning 'em to run their printers and card readers!

(South Park reference, for those confused right now.)

That won't work, if you also did part 2 - that can only be updated online or over the phone.

To the OP - I got the exact same problem, filled in step 1, then would not allow me to move on to step 2 (I even put in data in the Legal representative field, and still nothing). I strongly suggest you call them and talk to a tier2 who can operate the changes in the system. You should be getting a confirmation letter through mail to your new address.

USCIS [*] 22 Nov. 2011 - I-129 package sent; [*] 25 Nov. 2011 - Package delivered; [*] 25 Nov. 2011 - NOA1/petition received and routed to the California Service Center; [*] 30 Nov. 2011 - Touched/confirmation though text message and email; [*] 03 Dec. 2011 - Hard copy received; [*]24 April 2012 - NOA2 (no RFEs)/text message/email/USCIS account updated; [*] 27 April 2012 - NOA2 hard copy received.

NVC [*] 14 May 2012 - Petition received by NVC ; [*] 16 May 2012 - Petition left NVC.

EMBASSY [*] 18 May 2012 - Petition arrived at the US Embassy in Bucharest; [*] 22 May 2012 - Package 3 received; [*] 24 May 2012 - Package sent to the consulate, interview date set; [*] 14 June 2012 - Interview date, approved.

POE [*] 04 July 2012 - Minneapolis/St.Paul. [*] 16 September 2012 - Wedding Day!

AOS/EAD/AP [*] 04 February 2013 - AOS/EAD/AP package sent; [*] 07 February 2013 - AOS/EAD/AP package delivered; [*] 12 February 2013 - NOA1 text messages/emails; [*] 16 February 2013 - NOA1 received in the regular mail; [*] 28 February 2013 - Biometrics letter received (appointment date, March 8th); [*] 04 March 2013 - Biometrics walk-in completed (9 out of 10 fingerprints taken, pinky would not give in); [*] 04 April 2013 - EAD/AP card approved; [*] 11 April 2013 - Combo card sent/tracking number obtained; [*] 15 April 2013 - Card delivered.

[*] 15 May 2013 - Moved from MN to LA; [*] 17 May 2013 - Applied for a new SS card/filed an AR-11 online (unsuccessfully), therefore called and spoke to a Tier 2 and changed the address; [*] 22 May 2013 - Address updated on My Case Status (finally can see the case numbers online); [*] 28 May 2013 - Letter received in the mail confirming the change of address; [*] 31 July 2013 - Went to Romania; [*] 12 September 2013 - returned to the US using the AP, POE Houston, everything went smoothly; [*] 20 September 2013 - Spoke to a Tier2 and put in a service request; [*] 23 September 2013 - Got "Possible Interview Waiver" letter (originally sent on August, 29th to my old address, returned and re-routed to my current address); [*] 1 October 2013 - Started a new job.

Yeah I tried that but it keeps asking me to add more info for Step 1 like middle name and status and even though I already filled them out, the website still doesn't let me click "Signature". I called USCIS instead and they said if I don't receive any notice from them within 30 days, I can call again to update. I should receive the biometric letter by next week. Let's see!
