I am sorry for this stupid question. When paying the $340 fee is it OK if I send a check not from my checking account but from my father? The reason why I am asking this is I pay all my bills online and I have not had any checks for a number of years now. I don't want my bank to charge me an exorbitant fee to just have one check. I know I can pay thru money order but I want something that is traceable. Thanks for any input on this matter.

Welcome to the forum.

That shouldn't present a problem, as long as the checking account meets the guidelines specified in the I-129F instructions:

Good luck on your immigration journey.

You are K-1 so it's only $240.00. But BPI will only take Php 10,320.00 cash for payment, provided you have your MNL Case #, Visa deposit slip and passport. Good luck!

You point out a good question. Is the OP paying the visa petition fee ($340) or the visa application ($240) fee?

OP: :time: It helps everyone that uses the forum. Additionally, it enables responders to better understand your immigration situations.

Good luck on your visa journey.

It is for the visa petition fee of $340. I have not started the process yet of petitioning for my fiancee. Just putting everything together and hopefully to send it by next week.

Banks (at least the one I use) will issue a bank check from your account, its not certified so no nasty fee. I do online as well so checks are difficult when needed.
