Whatever happend the open carry march on D.C.?

Say, didn't the gun nuts plan an armed march on D.C. this July 4? Were we all just too occupied with Zimmermann and Egypt and whatnot to notice this brave, patriotic event?

Or is it that it simply did not happen? The all hat no cattle crowd strikes once again, yes?

Adam Kokesh, nut-job extroadinaire and inept revolutionary, did not come through on his pledge to march into the District of Columbia with an armed, but peaceful, band of fellow looneys yesterday. Nope, that plan was canceled several weeks ago so that he could focus his revolutionary zeal on organizing smaller armed marches on all the state's capitals. Come to think of it, he didn't come through on that pledge either. But he did, apparently, load a gun in Freedom Plaza and then put a video of himself doing it on YouTube. Just like Che.

In the video, which is titled 'Open Carry March on DC a Success', Kokesh loads and pumps a shotgun on Freedom Plaza with the Capitol Building visible in the background. The video is a mercifully short 22 seconds and features a suited Kokesh rambling off some garbage from his manifesto about fighting the government. He ends his tirade with, "see you next Independence Day."

Which may very well be true. The act of openly carrying a firearm in Washington D.C. is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Which unfortunately means your tax dollars could be spent to keep this idiot in a box for the next 5 Independence Days. Though given the option of paying to put him in a box or watching that video again, I know which I'd choose.
