My wife is on her way back to Russia to pick up her son and bring him back home. She is worried that she needs some special documents to show proof her sons biological father will allow him to leave Russia. Will immigration even ask for this at her Poe? She has his permission written in russian and translated in english but the english verision is not notorized. Any have any experience with this?

Everytime my wife travels alone with our daughter back to europe, the AIRLINE requires said statement.

The first time she travelled alone, we didn't know this and they wouldn't even let her check in. Luckly she was able to call me, and I could turnaround to go back to airport to give my consent to the airline. We drafted a travel auth after this, which we always carried and needed so far when one of us traveled alone.

If you have one in Russian and want to be on the safe side, I would have it notarized. I attached the travel consent form we had drafted if you can use it. At the POE in the US they might or might not ask for it. Anything what has to do with immigration I always play on the safe side.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...
