Congratulations to you and your fiancee! I've read parts of your story before and I appreciate that you're both holding on to each other despite the circumstances.

Hospital births in the Philippines have only become increasingly popular in the recent decades IMO. My mother gave birth to me in a public health center with the aid of a licensed midwife while a lay midwife helped her in delivering my brother in the house. My first sister was also born at home, thanks to another lay midwife who didn't even finish high school but had a lot of experience in assisting women during labor and delivery. I think that was kinda brave of my mother to have trusted lay midwives but my siblings are both very healthy. Mama was already nearly 40 by the time my youngest sister was born so she stayed in a hospital.

When it will be my turn to give birth at some point (praying that I get to be a mom, too!), my husband and I would love to be with a well-trained team of CPMs and CNMs at home in the US or in a birth center. I've dealt with ob-gyns in the US over the past few years and I don't feel at ease with doctors and hospitals. After all, childbirth is not necessarily a medical event.

If she wants to have a home birth, and insist on having one have a transportation readily available if ever complications arises. In terms of payments with the hospital for giving birth usually you talk to your doctor if he/she has package of some sort and how much the "damage" would be. CS vs NSD.

I had a NSD at a government hospital (my then doctor was affiliated) and I spent about $30K-35K all in. I had to have my companion buy some medical stuff.

I am wanting to do a water birth for my next pregnancy! smile.png

Congrats with the baby.

Work on the requirements for CRBA as early as now. smile.png

Well very soon you will need to think about CRBA so your child will have a U.S. passport when its time to travel.

CRBA won't likely apply. He said that he may not be the biological father of his fiancee's kid.

Ah, I missed that, where was it posted as I didn't see it in this topic?

That will create some new issues as the child is not listed on the I-129F for a K2 visa. Not sure if they will have to do a separate petition or what with that.

He keeps going back and forth whether the infant is his or not. Hopefully they get to sort things out.

i think that all depend on her situation and her baby situation...esp if she had HB pressure problem then i think she need to be at the hospital..or perhaps the baby was having some issue inside her womb then that also another problem if she going to deliver the baby at home..in case of emergency if will be hard for them to run and save the baby's life esp in the philippines they don't have a 911 service.

by the way goodluck!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

I should hire you as my record keeper :) I am just happy at this point that we have worked out our problems . My only concerns right now is the healthy delivery . Once the baby is out then we will face the challenges of the interview . Which ever they may be we will stand together and face the decision of the CO . I am confident we will be fine . This has made our relationship stronger in many ways . I read on VJ about relationships that fail for much less then ours . A lot of the members have been very helpful even with the events in our journey . I am very thankful for having a site with such people for that help .

From previous postings I have found that we just need to list the baby on the embassy forms . Write a letter of acknowledgement about the baby . I think that should be fine and give us our best chance . If they question the relationship I feel we have enough proof to provide . We will be prepared at the interview . Plus I will be there , so that should help .

Baby was after the filing of the I129F

Ah..... I read that first posting, the "red flag" topic.... didn't realize it was the same person. Didn't read the ones about possible being his... DNA testing ... yada.

So its a coin toss whether it will be CRBA or a what... a I-130 filing. I don't see how he will get the K2 filing if he has already filed the I-129F and the child isn't listed (obviously) ....

I'm getting dizzy....

Thanks
