Congrats. They received my DS-2001 and medical results on 1st and 2nd July respectively.

Am hoping to receive something very soon myself.

Deanna called the NVC again today asking if an interview date has been issued, as she has been everyday this week, and we HAVE A DATE!!

dancin5hr.gifAUGUST 1STdancin5hr.gif

They received the medical results Monday 8th July and It's the 11th today, 3 days to issue a date! I did state our wedding date of 17th August, so it may or may not have been a factor.

Now to plan a trip to London from sunny Anglesey!!

Hope everyone receives some good news soon.

Just called up the DOS number and found out that I have an interview scheduled for August 6th at 6.30am. Very early in the morning! the woman on the phone just said '6.30' and asked if that was AM or PM and she confirmed AM. At least things are getting set in stone. Very happy right now. :)

6.30am! Blimey. I'm was pretty sure the embassy didn't even open it's doors til 7:30! Ours is 8am. Now I'm glad it's that late, because I'm not a morning person at the best of times. ;)

Excellent news that you have your date! Exciting!

FINALLY got my interview date, August 8th, 8.30am...

I'm seriously HAPPY, was jumping around my kitchen after I called DoS.. Think the woman on the other end was rather amused.

WEDDING TIME!

Yay! There are *so many* UK interviews coming up on this forum, it seems. Gonna be a whole slew of UK "yay, I got my visa" posts coming up in August, I think. ;)

BEEN AWAY TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT THIS WEEKEND AND CAME HOME TO A LETTER FROM THE EMBASSY!!!
Most unexpected as we had delays due to one of my kids turning out to have a heart murmur there for delaying medical results being sent to the embassy. But yep, 5th august - 8.30am is our date! I am petrified of them being denied, fingers crossed for everyone here
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! X x X

Just called up the Embassy and they told me things were being processed and that I will have to wait up to 6 weeks to hear from then and then a further two weeks for the actual date. :(

Feeling a bit despondent.

Ignore them. That phone line say '6 weeks' for everything. They told me '6 weeks' every time I phoned them and they were not correct. They told me that I was unlikely to make my wedding date of 12 July and yet I had my visa in my hand on 25 June (and flew on 27 June).

You will get better information from phoning DOS.

If you want to try to push the Embassy for a date, phone the extortion line again and beg them fir the all important code to be able to e-mail the Embassy direct. tell them that you have set a wedding date and need to try to get an early interview.

Thank-you for your reassuring words :). Do you mind me asking when you sent your DS-2001 in? On the cover letter I told them that we hadn't set an official date yet , but that we wanted to marry in the third week of Aug due to my family working in Education (school holidays and whatnot) and wanting to be there. I'm worried that if I ring up and beg that they will know I haven't put that date on my cover letter ( I think this is my Catholic education coming out - I can't lie, hahaha!).

It's worrying that they treat people just like a number. You were also so right about the people at the Embassy sounding like they read from a script!

I sent my DS-2001 in with all my other forms - I sent them on 15 May from the US and had my medical on 30 May. Don't worry about the date on your DS-2001. Plans change. All you need to say is that you've just found out that an important member of your wedding group can only make a specific date.

I also sent my DS-2001 and cover letter with all my forms.

I called the UK embassy line today asking for an earlier date, and the woman gave me the code and email address to send an email to the embassy quite easily. I didn't have to do any grovelling. I've sent an email asking for an earlier date than my current appointment date of 1st August. It's worth a try and I have nothing to lose. It would just be nice to get a few days or even a week extra to help with preparations for the big day, before all my family get in to Chicago.

Phone DOS on 1-202-663-1225

tell them that you see that your file was updated yesterday and ask if they can tell you why it was updated. They are usually very helpful.

PS - suggest you edit your post and take out your LND number.
