Anyone waiting for/recently received interview appointment at London embassy?

Click on the IMMIGRANT VISA in the drop down box, then input your LND number, you should then get a little pop up on the website stating your case status and when it was last updated.

Deanna, decided to phone/call the american number yesterday, and they confirmed they had all the paperwork, but no assigned interview date yet!

We are just going to call everyday this week and be like flies around ###### and not leave them alone :)

How long does it take roughly for an interview to be assigned? a week, two weeks?

Mine took about 3 weeks for the interview to be assigned, then the interview date was another 3 weeks away...it's not what you'd call speedy. But hey, we're used to that right?!

There is another wait after the interview to get your passport back which I'm currently having to endure....

I guess it will also be dependant on when you specified your wedding date to be. I assume that will be a factor they take in to consideration.

Yes, London is very good at trying to help you keep travel commitments, or wedding plans. They don't even seem to want any evidence about them, so it's always worth putting a date in the cover letter.

Thank you for the quick response lost_at_sea smile.png .

Ill get on to that tomorrow, for now I'm going to go back outside and make the most of the weather we are having here in the UK good.gif

Thanks again, Karl.

What wedding date did you specify in your cover letter? I am about a week ahead of you in terms of when the Embassy received results and forms so we both should hear about an interview about the same time.

Fair enough. I bet they kept getting phone calls from people and moved it to that drop down. I wouldn't be surprised if K1 codes just worked with either drop-down selected.

K1 is a non-immigrant visa, though, technically. Just incase that further confuses anyone. tongue.png

K-1 Visa numbers do not work in the non-immigrant visa drop down. They only work when you select immigrant visa. It doesn't really make any sense, as you said, K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, but that's the way it is. I originally thought it would be non-immigrant and was irritated when my case number didn't show anything. Then I decided to try the immigrant drop down and I got my "in transit" status (which has today been updated to show it being received). So often, things they do make no sense, but we just gotta roll with it because there's really nothing else we can do about it at this point.

I'm sending off my DS2001 tomorrow. My medical was on Fri the 5th July but I had to wait because there was a chance of them requesting further information about a medical issue. Is it possible to put a hypothetical wedding date on the letter to get an interview faster? I really like to be over there ASAP.

Codie did you put a date on your letter?

Deanna called the NVC again today asking if an interview date has been issued, as she has been everyday this week, and we HAVE A DATE!!

dancin5hr.gifAUGUST 1STdancin5hr.gif

They received the medical results Monday 8th July and It's the 11th today, 3 days to issue a date! I did state our wedding date of 17th August, so it may or may not have been a factor.

Now to plan a trip to London from sunny Anglesey!!

Hope everyone receives some good news soon.

That's great news Deanna and Karl. I sent off DS2001 a couple of hours ago. Didn't put an exact wedding date but did state I was hoping to be there around the 3rd week of Aug and so please could I be assigned an interview asap - that could persuade them, right? :P

Hopefully you should hear something at the beginning of next week. My fingers are crossed for you both
