Petition approved... I-134 or I-864 for K1 visa?

Our petition was approved recently and I need to gather financial support information. I will be visiting my fiance in about 10 days, and I wanted to take all of the documents to him. Which of the affidavits of support do I need to fill out? Does it matter? The I-864 is much more detailed than the I-134.

Also - how does everyone find out the date the petition arrived at the NVC and the date it was sent on to the consulate? I tried calling the NVC but there was no answer.

It will probably matter to you..... you will want to prepare the I-134

The consulate in Ciudad Juarez doesn't use the I-134 (and the I-864 is for AOS in the US). But you CAN use it since it makes things a whole lot easier.

For the NVC, wait about 2 weeks after approval date and email them or call them but you need to talk to an operator. You can also email CDJ to ask if they have received the your file. Be sure to read through the CDJ website's fiance packet info, especially since what you will receive from them will not be accurate: http://usembassy.state.gov/CiudadJuarez/wwwhivfi.html
