Hi guys, I am super confused about the medical and hoping someone can shed some light.

I read online that you have to take the medical BEFORE an interview can be scheduled and saw lots of advice about calling NVC to get the LND number in advance of any mail arriving. So I've been stalking NVC and just got our LND number today (woohoo!) but the phone rep told me in no uncertain terms that my husband cannot take the medical until AFTER his interview date is scheduled.

So what's the deal, is the NVC just trying to discourage people from doing things out of order? It is really difficult for my hubby to get to London so we don't want to get this part wrong. Thanks for your advice!

You are IR1/CR1 processing at NVC. You will get an interview handed out by NVC when your case is complete with them and indeed BEFORE your medical.

What you read applies to K1s and those doing DCF because London hands out those interview dates, not the NVC. Medical results are one requirement to get aninterview letter from London if K1.

You will get a date, then are expected to attend a medical before that date. There is no long waiting list to get an appointment at the medical clinic. And there is some truth to not getting things out of order. Medical results arriving before cases get to London could end up with misplaced medicals and not getting matched up in the same folder.
