There is a thread in the Progress forum dealing with people at the Atlanta office. I'm sorry but you'll likely be in for the long haul - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/397450-atlanta-transferrers/

It normally takes from 4-8 months. After 6 months your husband can ask them to look into your case (it's called a service request) but not until then.

Just an FYI to everyone with a case number not showing in the USCIS website.

If it has never shown up there, then it is probably OK and processing normally. I would just call and ask for status updates regularly. Also you can sign-up for an account and email updates on the USCIS website. You will get updates this way more reliable than the case status website. The link below is where to sign-up.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp

However, if your case has been showing up on the website, then suddenly is not, something is happening with your case. Most times usually an approved, OR an RFE. In my case, mine had always shown online. Then suddenly disappeared. I called many times and talked with a tier 2 rep and told not to worry, in processing and nothing to worry about. Well......it took 20 days for the mail to reach me abroad to tell me i DID have an RFE!! So I called USCIS another time, to ask about my case and say it was not showing up. Again they told me in processing nothing to worry about. That's when I was like " OH REALLY??? why the hell am I holding a RFE letter then if everything is OK??" They just said then you know what is wrong with your case, why are you calling me to ask what is wrong? Anyway, if they just told me the many times I called it would have saved a lot of time.

So, if your case never has shown up, no problem. If it had shown up, but now it is not. Something is going on and you need to find out.
