Question about K Visa Instructions (P4) - Police Certificates need for (2) current residence where the applicant had resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen.

My gal had lived at college for 4 years in another providence, but she said her hukou has always been in her home town and she was just a 'visitor' in her college town so she did not reside there and thus does not need a police certificate from that local.

VJers thoughts?

here hukuo is listed

as

one pcc covers all of china

and

the pcc is only issued in her hukuo city.

What if the hukou has been moved in the past?

Guangzhou was ok with just the one police certificate? I've been really worried about this step, because I don't know if my fiancee will be able to go to the other city where her hukou was during her college years.

2013.1.7- I-129f mailed to Texas Lockbox (with correct fee this time--> Delivered 2013.1.8 (priority date)

2013.5.29- RFE mailed--> 2013.6.3 RFE arrives --> 2013.7.3 Forms mailed back to CIS via DHL--> 2013.7.5 CSC confirms receipt of evidence

2013.7.26- I129f approved! --> 2013.8.16- NVC confirms receipt of petition

2013.8.30- P3 arrives at fiancee's home --> 2013.9.8 P3 documents mailed to GUZ

2013.9.20- P4 email arrives

2013.10.25- Medical exam; 2013.10.28- Interview--> APPROVED!

2014.2.20- POE!; 2014.2.21- reunited in my hometown :)

We talked with the PSB where my fiancee lives to see if they would even consider giving us a police certificate (this is where she currently lives, not her hukou town). Without a hukou in that area, and with no money or guanxi, they basically just laughed in our faces and said f@#$ off. (ok, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the idea)

We only have the police cert in her hometown, which has been notarized and whatnot. So, although we haven't done the interview yet, I am trusitng all my fellow VJers that everything will be fine!

I have heard of some rumors that the hukuo "system" may be changing soon…..dry.png
