HELP! With Husband in his country..leave Saturday..what do I need from him?

Hello Everyone!

I know this answer is probably posted in a few places but I am in the Dominican Republic with my husband only until noon this Saturday. We FINALLY got notice while I was down here that our NOA2 was received at the NVC and will be getting a case # shortly. YAY!! dancin5hr.gif

I want to get anything I need from him WHILE I AM HERE...my question is...What do I need from him BEFORE the interview to be sent with the DS 230 form?

Birth Certificate?

Marriage Certificate?

Police Certificate?

2 Passport Photos 2x2 in size

Are these all things I need to send in the DS 230 packet or can some of it be brought to the interview????? Please let me know....I don't know if I can get a police certificate from him before I leave so I am hoping we can just bring that to the interview.

July 22, 2013 ~ AOS received at NVC

July 25, 2013 ~ Accepted DS 3032 email

July 26, 2013 ~ Received IV Bill

July 27, 2013 ~ Paid IV Bill

July 31, 2013 ~ IV Bill Shows Paid, Mailed IV Packet!

Aug 01, 2013 ~ NVC received DS 230 packet

Aug 12, 2013 ~ Called NVC and was told I had a checklist on AOS..uuuggghhhhh

Aug 19, 2013 ~ NVC received corrected AOS

Aug 23, 2013 ~ Received Checklist on DS230..need Birth Certificate in Extensa

Sept 9, 2013 ~ NVC Received correct Birth Certificate, but now being told 30 business day review instead of 20 sad.png

Sept 13, 2013 ~ Did the DS 260 online...another 30 business day review ..Ugghhhhh...was told we didn't need to do this, but now we do mad.gif

Oct 2, 2013 ~ CASE COMPLETE AND INTERVIEW DATE OF NOV. 20th!! WAHOOOOO!

Nov 20, 2013 ~ VISA APROVADA!!

Nov 26, 2013 ~ Picked Up Visa in Santo Domingo at Domex

Nov 27, 2013 ~ POE Atlanta....Then flew to Illinois....Picked my Hubby up at the Airport!!!

You'll need the things that you listed, and I would recommend at least 2 signed copies of the DS-230, one for NVC one for your records. This came in handy when we got an RFE for a date

01/28/2013 I-130 package sent

01/31/2013 Notice of Action Date After POE
02/01/2013 Received e-mail and text notification of acceptance 11/26/2013 Applied for SS#
02/04/2013 Received hard copy NOA1 (case not found in on-line system) 12/02/2013 ELIS site still states "accepted"
03/12/2013 Transferred to the local office 12/27/2013 received green card
04/10/2013 Case still not found in on-line system
04/15/2013 INFO-PASS appointment

05/01/2013 NOA2 sent petition approved

05/09/2013 Case received by NVC

05/23/2013 Received case #'s from NVC

05/23/2013 DS-3032 sent from husband's e-mail

06/03/2013 First day I can not access payment portal

06/04/2013 AOS Fee invoiced and payment made

06/04/2013 DS-3032 resent with Supervisor Review

06/05/2013 DS-3032 acceptance e-mail

06/05/2013 AOS Fee shows "PAID"

06/06/2013 AOS package express mailed

06/07/2013 IV bill invoiced and payment made (still waiting on documents from Hubby)

06/08/2013 IV package express mailed

06/25/2013 IV reviewed - Checklist (2 errors, Birth document & date on DS-230)

06/26/2013 Requested supervisor review by e-mail & verbal request for birth document (fingers crossed)

06/27/2013 AOS accepted

06/28/2013 Checklist response sent for corrected DS-230 (I had my husband sign extra's just in-case)

08/02/2013 NVC requested a supervisor review on the checklist item over 20 business day window

Also double check with your regional forum but I think the DR is one embassy where it's necessary for the petitioner to be there.

I just want to be clear... All the documents you listed are to be sent with DS230, none of them are to be brought to the interview, correct?

And yes, I do need to be at the interview and I will be, but I am down here now and just want to get everything I need from him that I need to send in DS230 so he doesn't have to mail anything. It's so expensive to mail things, so we avoid it as much as we can. :-)

A photocopy of the bio data page of his passport

2 US passport sized photos

Birth certificate

Marriage certificate

Any divorce decrees

Police certificate

Any military records

Completed ds-230 with part 1 signed and part 2 unsigned

Any extra evidence you want the CO to have before the interview
