I am a conditional resident in US. I entered US as fiance class admission using UK travel document. Currently, this document is expired and I was asking the UK embassy if they can renew it, however, I have been informed I need to contact the UK boarder agency. I learned the UK boarder agency is renewing travel documents only for person who is residing in the country. I do not have passport from my country of citizenship and I can't apply to get one because of my asylum situation. I am planning to travel outside US and a visa is required to the country I am arriving in. What document can I submit to receive visa? Can I use re-entry permit from USCIS to request visa to travel another country

I would imagine it depends on the country you are travelling to and their rules, as well as the airline you are planning on flying with.

You will need to apply for a Travel Document using an I-131 application form. You will receive a document (similar to the expired one you have from the UK) which you can then use to apply for visas to visit countries that would require you to have a visa in order to visit.

I believe, however, that you may run into issues if you are not registered as an asylee / refugee in the US. You stated you arrived as a K nonimmigrant, did you ever claim asylum at any point or did you enter, marry, and then file for AoS in the normal way? What is your country of origin?

I entered to US with K-1 visa and married a US citizen then adjust my status as conditional resident. My origin of country is Eritera and planning to travel to Italia. I can' t apply for refugee here in US because I am not an asylee. However I can apply for re-entry permit (i-131) but does this document use to apply visa?

Why would you need to apply for refugee status or be asylee when you have a green card already?

Because she can't travel overseas without a passport or a refugee / asylee document, even with a green card.

To my knowledge you cannot use advance parole for the purpose the OP describes..

If he/she entered on a K1 and AOS they cannot be a asylee. I think they are stuck unless the home country issues a passport ot they can wait 3 years het US Citizenship and get a US passport.

From the I-131 instructions:

A Refugee Travel Document is issued to a person in valid refugee or asylee status, or to a permanent resident who

obtained such status as a refugee or asylee in the United States.

I think you are right. Perhaps, I am stuck this time and need to wait until I hit 3 years to get my US passport. Actually, I left only a year.
