I wish for all couples who are waiting for visa will be reunion soon...

My case is still processing but our plans were destroyed. My husband will end his contract soon and has no job. we dont know where would we be then but now we are seperate, no sponsor, no help, nothing.

we are closed to give up because we have tried so many ways but it doesnt work out. Everyday I seen people posted that their visa got approved then it hurts me more and more, i'm depressed, frustrated, sad for our lives, we are just unlucky.

life sucks

I'm sorry for your situation...

My wife and I are in a similar situation... Times are very tough under normal circumstances, add the difficulty of a foreign-national marriage and it becomes very burdensome... Of course a lot of contemporary issues are solved with money! Money money money is so important...

But if you two love each other then just hang in there...

My wife and I have been married for almost 5 years, together for 6.... But we've been away for over 2 years total.... due to travel/visas.... Right now I've been away from her and my 11 month old daughter for 8 months... and I have no idea when I'll see them again.

But just loving them and trying my best to bring us together is important.

Keep trying and find alternatives routes if possible...

I have to go for the day, but after reading this, felt the need to include my thoughts before I do...

FIrst off, I am sorry that you are going through these feelings - I can understand the frustration that you must feel at the moment, feelings of hopelessness now that he has lost his job, after already going through all the hurdles you must go through in getting married and going through the visa application process, not to mention being apart for so long.

I want to URGE you to please hang in there. Times may be tough, but they will pass, as long as you two stick with it. You may have to wait until he gets another job, even start over with the visa process if the wait for that is long. But is it worth ending a lifetime together that you will gain eventually over this temporary frustration?

Living apart is hard, no doubt about it, but perhaps come to terms with the fact you may be apart for a while and make the best of it. My fiance and I told each other early on that, no matter how many years it will take to get her here, she still has me for life, and I will marry her no matter what. She promised the same thing to me. SInce then, during the wait, we have focused on enjoying each other with the means we do have - on camera, chatting every day for hours on end, and of course, the visits, where we always make up for the lost physical time together hehe. Our love has grown stronger because of this, DESPITE the distance.

No doubt, being together is better - or none of us would be going through the visa process. But that doesn't mean that we cannot enjoy each other if apart, and it definitely does not mean we will end it if we cannot be together soon. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, one that places our love for each other a top priority, no matter what comes or when it does come.

Please reconsider giving up, if you truly do love each other. You will regret it if you don't.

Why give up and why is it the end? If his job is ending there are still some options. Find a temporary job so his income continues while he finds a new permanent job. Also he can get a co sponsor or joint sponcor to help if his income is not enough because of no job. I know you mentioned he did not have someone to help for a sponsor but it can be ANYONE. I am sure your husband knows someone who can help. If not there are groups that often help sponsor. Try whatever religious group he belongs to if he does. Many churches help. If being together is important to you, and living in the US is important to you, why not do everything you can to make it happen?

All files received after August 15th have MSC case numbers.

Your file is then to be expected to transfer to your portland office somewhere between 1-3 months after you file.

NOA1 is notice of action 1.

It's your physical letter you received with your receipt number.

NOA2 would be, here, referred to as your approval (or denial in some rare cases) of the I-130 petition.

RFE is a request for evidence. That's when they request something in addition to what you sent.

Often times, it because you forgot to send something or misfilled something out.

Can you please fill in your timeline?

Yes it looks like are cases are alike since we filed at the same time from the same country. Only that I live in Vietnam with my wife at this time. So sometimes that makes the process a little faster they say. Anyway.....as stated above NOA1 means Notice of Action1. This means they have received your paper work pretty much. MSC means your case is being worked on at National Benefits Center. RFE means a Request for Evidence.

As in my case we received and RFE because we had a date listed incorrectly on our forms. So we had to fix it before a decision could be made. We are still waiting and since we received the RFE we can not check our status online either. I just call weekly to the USCIS office and talk to a tier 2 rep. They give me a status update that way.

Just have your husband call the USCIS office and ask about your case. Tell them you can not check the status online and would like an update.

RFE not REF.

Request For Evidence

All cases get an NOA2. The NOA2 would come AFTER an RFE if you get one. If you send everything you're supposed to, you should not get an RFE. You don't want to get one.

That is good you haven't got news of an RFE. They are not a good thing. It is a request that you send them more information. It adds time to your wait. Not fun, you do not want an RFE.

All cases get NOA2...That is your approval of the I-130 petition. After the NOA2 at USCIS your case gets sent to the 2nd stage, NVC (National Visa Center)

i say not give up at all.

he can find another job

some people view the 'break from work' as a perfect time to travel back and stay with their spouse for a few months, then get back to usa and get more work.

You could shift yer thinking a bit, persuade your husband to travel to you now.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
