about ready to turn in my adjustment of status paperwork probley this saturday. I know I can turn in my ead paperwoek in at the same time to illinois address. I am worried about them calling us in for biometric finger prints because we are not going to be in GA from Jan 1 to feb 18th. tried to find a phone number for there local office in GA and all i can find is an address. If I don't turn in my ead with adjustment of status do I still mail it to the nation illinois address when I am ready or do i mail it to the GA office. Should I just go ahead and turn it in now with my adj of status paper work. If I miss the biometrics appointment how bad will that affect us? Thanks for any advise

no one has advise? Just wondering how long it usually take after you turn in your aplication for EAD for them to give you an appointment for finger prints.

just off the top of my head, you will probably be looking at between 4-6 weeks from now for your biometric appointment.. allow say 2 weeks from postage to NOA1 then 2 weeks for biometrics which puts it right at the time that you will be away.

As too what could happen if you dont go to the biometrics appointment, I have no idea... I know that you can reschedule.

On my biometrics letter appointment date 08/11/2006, about rescheduling it says you may go any following wednesday as long as i appear before 10/27/2006.

However, with the changing of alot of the letters lately I think that it has changed and might need to wait until someone with a more recent letter will be able to give you advise

other idea is to hold off on sending in your application until you are just about to leave on your holiday.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

4-6 weeks is about right. Mine took 3 weeks from the time of filing to my biometrics appointment.

I just had my biometrics today, so my NOA is recent.

On mine, it says:

REQUEST FOR RESCHEDULING

Please reschedule my appoinment (sic!) for the next available: Wednesday afternoon ... Saturday afternoon...

USCIS cannot guarantee the day preferred, but will do so to the extent possible. Upon receipt of your request, you will be provided a new appointment notice. Make a copy of this notice for your records, then mail the orginal (sic!!!) with your request to <local USCIS office>.

I'm not sure if you can phone/email them with the request though.
