I've got a question for you guys, since I love to watch "Animal Cops" on Animal Planet and a couple of days ago I watched an episode about a hurricane in Texas and how people abandoned her animals, so the SPCA had to rescue them and then some owners came to collect their animals.

While it's difficult to evacuate all your animals when you have a farm and lots of them, I couldn't understand why you can't take your dog or a cat with you... Is there any state/federal law that you can't take your dog with you while being evacuated? Or is it just some people don't give a damn about their animals and let other to bother with them?

In the case of 9-11. A lot of people weren't home when the area was sealed off, leaving their beloved pets stranded for many days.

In the case of niki, she's just evil and abandoned her horse, a gelding, and didn't bring it to Colorado. Soon, nik will get a new horse and forget all about her old horse.....

I didn't go fishing.....

Yeah, the 9-11 was the special case.

But in the episode they were talking about the Ike hurricane, so the people knew in advance about it and they evacuated themselves, abandoning their animals. Not all the people I think.

Oh, Steve, I hope you're ready for some face punching! :D

Maybe people in Texas enjoy abandoning their animals.....

there is a wide demographic of pet owners. So the hurricane in Houston, for example,

Folk were more interested in either getting out of the way

or

sticking it out and protecting their property

or

if they were poor, and pet owners, the pets were never the first consideration.
