Ok, Larry, curly, and moe.......

I tell Larry to get a company car towed in. He decides that he can jump start it. And he does, so curly and moe follow in another car to drop off the first car at the shop......

The first car breaks down on the highway. Now I have 3 guys and 2 cars out. They call to get another guy to go there in a third car, to fetch curly and moe. Leaving Larry to sit there in the good car to wait for tow on the bad car in 92 degree heat. I'm waiting for another call when the good car overheats and they need a second tow.....

3 stooges in shirts and ties doing this. 3 professional college grads.......

Thanks Steve. I am getting antsy. I can only do so much house work and gardening before going nuts. I cannot understand why the recruiters did nto just ask for my Canadian info at the same time when I was filling out all of the paperwork over a month ago. I would have started by now...big screw up on their part. I have a friend who is in a management position at that company and all of their employees are working overtime becasue the new hires background checks are delayed.

When I worked in my old job, I knew where ever file was in the filing cabinet and in our computer system in relation to any of my highrise projects. My replacement was blown away and a year late I am still getting emails from him asking where things are even though I explained where to find everything.

People are so lazy and would rather aske than look for the info first.

I am still waiting to start my job. I got a phone call on Friday telling me that my criminal check came back okay..duh...but now they need to do a criminal check in Canada so here I sit at home waiting......

My wife went through the wait while they ordered and NBI report on her from the Philippines. This was after she provided one to them. She was deathly afraid the job wouldn't be there for her it took so long.

It was a very efficient company with high paying salaries. In doing so, many positions were created/ eliminated. Everyone has collateral duties. In return, the monetary and personal benefits of this company is great. Unsurpassed by any small company of our size. (How many companies dole out a 2000 dollar summer bonus in July?). Anyway, it has gotten to the point where I have to answer the phones, and worry about the cars? I'm going to sit down with these schmucks and give them some choices......

I like dark ales. Doesn't matter who makes it, although I have a few I like more than others. Don't really care for San Miguel either, although Red Horse is OK. I think when I move to the Philippines, I'll need to start making my own beer.

You should. In most other companies they'd be fired or disciplined. Starting with the lady who told you she's leaving at noon just because it's pay day. Guess you make so much money you don't need to work then.

I provided them with a copy of my police clearance certificate from Metro Toronto Police. It was the same one that I used for my K1 visa and for AOS.

I know exactly how your wife feels.

Can I please work for you? I didn't get a raise for 3 years at my old company. I worked about 700+ hrs of unpaid overtime the year before I left. The owner of the company couldn't afford to give us raises or any sort of bonus but he was a nice guy and created a decent working environment. If I had to leave early (say 2:00 pm) I would always come in at 6 am and work right thru lunch to get my work completed.

I'm sure you do. I felt pretty bad for my wife going stir crazy at home while she waited to be able to work. She'd worked since elementary school, no way is she happy sitting at home. At least I was able to take my lunch with her every day. Now she misses those days, but wouldn't want to go back to them, because she knows how it would make her feel. But they were a good time to. If you can manage it, enjoy the days you have now. I hope they finish with your background check soon, so you can join the ranks of us overworked folk.
