So, this is what happened to the captain today.....I drifted over a commercial crab trap, and the rope got caught on the starboard prop. After fumbling around with the boat hook trying to unwrap it, I had to jump in the water and get under the boat to free it.....I still managed a dozen fish tho. Just got done cleaning myself up....

Sounds like the captain needs a better navigator rofl.gif At least you caught some fish though.

Well I was drifting for fluke with the outgoing tide, we were on one side of the boat and no one saw the marker on the other side. Next thing I hear a clunk as the marker latched onto the prop. Everyone in the bay knows how selfish this crab guy is. He's the only one with a grandfathered-in license for that area. He places the traps all over the ledges making it hard for anglers. Good thing I wasn't under power at the time. I needed you on the boat Cary. You woulda made easy work out of it. But the current was really strong. I was struggling even with a tether. I didn't have a mask. No snorkel vest, no fin socks.....cut my foot on the trim tab. It's been years since I last went diving.....but I did attend US Navy water survival training when I was a young pup lol......

And I managed to snap this for you land lubbers......

I don't like trying to do work in a current, it really sucks. I've had my mask ripped off in currents before just by turning my head. I've also had water pushed up into the regulator by currents, quite the shock when you get a mouth full of water when you're expecting air. rofl.gif

Great picture, makes me want to be out on the water.

I really need a vacation soon, three years without taking one is starting to drag on me. First burned up all my time with my wife to be, then burned it up on the wife's arrival, then burned it up on taking her to job interviews. Luckily my boss gave me bereavement pay for the entire time I just took off for my mother's funeral. Soon I should have acquired enough vacation time again to maybe go somewhere. Even a cabin on a lake right in Minnesota would be great right now.

3 year without vacation? Or without a week off? Big difference.

I'm ready to take another vacation lol. I take like six 10 day vacations a year :)

Cary fly to NYC, show your wife the big apple...

I've had enough time off.... Ugh. I have to find a notary for this letter, most that I contracted said any bank can do it, even if I don't have an account there. Someone told me a post office should be able to as well? Then I can send it off for my ex to bring the kiddo down.

Hubs might have to go to OK city for a month on Aug 14. Training for work. Kiddo is here until the 27th ish so he'd fly over and I may or may not drive over too. I prolly should stay here and get a job but but but... I just got him and I don't want to Skype with my husband anymore!
