We haven't seen the professor in a week...

I'm back now. My mother died last week, and I'm the person who always took care of everything for her, and so the funeral fell to me also. I never knew setting up a funeral was so much work. Plus of course sometimes it was completely emotionally draining to do some of the things that had to be done. She resting peacefully now, and she had the funeral she wanted. I know that well because I had discussed it with her about 10 years ago when her health was going bad. I'm so very thankful to my wife for being such a great support to me. She lifted my spirits up, when on my own I would have fallen.

After what seems like weeks, we finally got substantial rain here. It really made a positive difference in terms of how much the central A/C had to strain, swelter man.

Of course, I had just washed both cars within 48 hours of the rain, and one got messed up today (the other probably will tomorrow). However, we needed the rain, so I performed my public duty by calling on it to rain by having washed the cars, si man.

Going to bed after emptying aforementioned dishwasher and ministering to the cat, zzz man. Good news is that, as of today, I'm one year closer to qualifying for the senior discount at the resale stores, whee man.

sigh man, you just reminded me I didn't empty our dishwasher last night.

Thanks. We were lucky to have her around as long as we did. Her health had been very bad for a long time. But you're still never ready for it. When she almost died last year, they said she'd be lucky to survive another year. She bounced back so well, that I really thought she'd keep chugging along. Even took her off hospice care, it just seemed silly she was on it she had gotten so much better. Then without any warning besides being a bit confused the day before, she passed away in her sleep, two days short of her 75th birthday. She'd had COPD for almost 20 years, because of a house fire she was in.

Yesterday, I couldn't get off the phone. All kindsa non sense all day long....

Today I walk into the office. The loudest mouth in the office was nonstop telling war stories about the Times Square protests, at the top of his lungs....

I had to tell him several times to cut it out. I have now banned any further discussion about the Zimmerman verdict in the office.....

I'm kind of amazed at the amount of ignorance on the Zimmerman trial. With American media only caring about making a buck by sensationalizing everything, the general public isn't going to learn much.

Locally they're peacefully protesting the result and linking it to a case where the cops shot and killed a black man a few months ago. BTW that man had been running from the cops in a high speed chase, shot two of them, before he was killed in a final shoot out at different location.

Well I better end this, or it could get political.
