Asia, why are you showing us a picture of a Polish U-haul? smile.png

What made you think, it was a Polush U-haul, Mister? wink.png

Here, I snapped a pic to show you guys how serious I am about fishing.....

Nice collection!

The only thing I'm collecting are cups lol... I have 94 cups from all over the world... But I don't use them. They're just collecting dust, apart from being a nice sight for my eyes :)

We are staying overnight in the hospital, but the kid doesn't eat sweets and she had now 3 glucose positive urine test spread over the day. The blood level was ok, but they still aren't sure if she's got the diabetes. My uncle died from Type I, I dumped glucose my whole pregnancy, etc. She seems fine, though.

I hope everything will be fine!

Keeping my fingers crossed for that.

Mrs. T-B. & I went away from a Friday morn to a Saturday eve, and Mrs. T-B. called Mama-Mrs.-T-B. (who was babysitting) only 18 times on Friday and 11 times on Saturday, if my counts were accurate. wacko.png

She must be really worried about Mini-Bone... And how did he take the separation from you? Was it okay, or was that a disaster?

Hey Nola how is the kiddo doin?

____________

rain all weekend... #######... :( We're gonna try fishing Monday when the rain chance is only 20% ... I don't mind because rain here means thunderstorms and I'm not one to want to be near water when lightening bolts are coming out of the clouds.

Well, they are like 95% sure she isn't Type I diabetic right now, but they want us to keep checking her blood levels at home. They think it is really really odd that she has glucose in her urine (still today after not really eating anything yesterday) but her blood readings are normal. It is possible she has a lower threshold for dumping glucose. We are going to have to wait and see, I suppose.

She has been poked and prodded so much in the last 24 hours that I don't think she will ever want to go back to the doctor.

Speaking of Doctors...

One week after my stomach surgery, I'm still sore, restricted to eating stuff with the consistency of baby food and wish I could do more... bah.

you gots a blender?? I made (by mistake) some really interesting chicken-tomato stuff with spices of my own choosing. Steamed chicken, cut into 1 inch cubes, cut tomatoes, put in some grape seed oil, punch the button.

omg it was incredible. same consistency as pate`.

I'm a thinking, though, you can make anything with the right blender. my chicken-tomato 'paste' was a fluke, but the taste was amazing.

I do indeed have a blender, but it's a hand blender rather than a mixing blender (if that makes sense). Dinner tonight for me, as an example: I had mashed potatoes with a bit of extra milk mixed in as well as blending in some wafer-thin ham along with some puréed baked beans. Wasn't half bad if truth be told - but that's given me the idea of getting some tomatoes to go with my chicken strips I have in the fridge, some seasoning and giving that a whirl.

ya, i know a hand blender - i not write of that beastie - not enough torque, the way i use it.

Some hand blenders are super-industrial - maybe you have one of those?

IMO, it's worth a trip to a charity resale shop, today, to purchase one cheaply.

Yeah, mine's done a pretty good job so far if I say so myself with the meals I've made. But if it starts struggling with stuff then I might go ahead and have a look around the charity shops in town. I'll be on "soft textures" (read: mashed stuff) next week and back onto solids the week after, all being well.

I got the job! dancin5hr.gif I start Monday morning. Hubby's green card came today, and he also got an email telling him he's got his first job interview on Tuesday! Yay! kicking.gif Lots of good news lately!

One complaint, though... I'll be glad when hubby can get his license. His test is on August 6th, but if this job comes through we're really going to be needing family favors. Between work, doctor's appts, and stuff for school, we're going to be running ourselves ragged as it is, and I just won't be able to be in two places at once all the time... wacko.png I hope he gets this job, but at the same time I'm wondering how we'd do all the running around.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.
