I didn't know they have a direct flight from Minnesota to Japan...

It goes back to the old Northwest Orient days, when flights to Asia was a specialty of the airline that was based here. They started making the flights in the 40's I believe. Now they're Delta and actually prefer to route you through Detroit which is a bigger hub.

I literally just did this one "That Newark to Hong Kong is a 16 hour flight on its own"

i think it was maybe right at 15 hours. We flew from HK back to chicago last Sunday and the estimated time at take off was 14.

Yah the actual flight time is usually a bit shorter than the reported flight time. But add in all the time boarding and getting off, and it's way too many hours cramped up in a plane for my tastes. I just want to get the heck out of the plane after about 5 hours actually. Too closed in, too stale of air, too cramped, too boring, etc...

I haven't made my way to work yet......I suppose I should lol......

Man I'm having a lazy week......

Screw work, go fishing instead.

Did you ever get the door finished?

For sure, wasn't trying to correct you, just my two cents. We got upgraded to first class from Newark to HK and it was awesome. Being able to lie down makes a huge difference. The flight back was economy. It wasn't too bad but clearly not as comfortable. I watched a ton of movies though. Way too long to be on an airplane though.

An immigrant gets divorced, spends the six months waiting for the divorce with his USC wife. Now he's wondering why he can't use the I-864 to force her to pay him support because he was a stay at home father. Hello, if you wanted support you were supposed to ask for it in the divorce! headbonk.gif But then again maybe he did and was denied.

His comment "wow...this is so unfair. why can't you go to immigration and make to force them to pay."

Looks like its another that thought coming to the USA meant not having to work and everyone else should support him. I can't help but read his how soon can I be a citizen, for how soon can I get welfare.

My point was just the flights are too dang long. I'd spend hundreds extra to cut the time in half when flying to Asia. Now if its first class, hey that another story, at least the cramped and too closed in part of it goes away. I think the stale air and boredom would still get to me though.

I agree. I think we're due another attempt at supersonic planes. Not that I could afford it anyway.

That is interesting. Maybe I'm just a pragmatist, but for me, alimony is to support a stay at home spouse who spent a really long time out of the workforce and would take a while to find new employment or get retrained, it isn't for short marriages.

I'm just glad she got away!

There is a particular member on this board that always babbles on about personal stories that BARELY have anything to do with the main topic being discussed. The link between the story, which helps no one, and the main topic is tenuous at best more often than not. I'm about to put them on ignore because already 2 stories this morning have given me a headache.

Yes I'm ranting in this thread. :P

ya, used to. NorthWest Air had a nice jaunt - I remember taking it right after the turn of the century.
