The USDA regulations on free range actually doesn't do much, they have to have occasional access to the outdoors but there isn't any specification to the amount of space or time they can spend out there. Last time I checked as well, farmers don't let their chickens just roam around. They're in coops. For their own safety. But that could have been just where I grew up because there were coyotes, cougars, bears, wolves, and feral dogs and cats.

Anyhow doesn't matter, makes me annoyed, but it is what it is. I don't bring in the money right now either. We saved $40 on groceries because I'm smart to buy stuff on sale. I just do the best with what I have.

Sorry Niki, I know it sucks. My brothers live on a farm that produces a ton of eggs and chicken for a family farm. They don't free range their production chickens (only the pets), but they try to keep things clean and nice. There are farmers here who free range or at least let the chickens be in fresh clean air and have room to venture about. Seriously our grocery budget is s-m-a-l-l because it is the only place we can cut back. My school tuition is going to be due soon and probably car payments on two cars. My mother finally agreed to sell us the truck for way less than the blue book but she'd give us the money back when I finally graduate.

I don't want to because life is really amazing for us right now, but I wish there was a little more cash free. Hopefully when we pay off the loans and credit cards there will be.

I note cage free is not same as free range, when talking of eggs and chickens.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

tBone - 500 bonus points if'n you can teach Mrs. T-Bone how to properly use the appliances in the house during this summer.

Mrs. T-B. did knock the blender onto the floor, smashing it (thank you, God -- I hate that infernal thing). I got to take it out in the garbage, after she ignored my admonitions to NOT put it in a plastic bag that was sure to rip, which it did, si and sigh, man.

Photos or it didn't happen.....

All the CABA babes and Asia must submit fotos (Spanish spelling -- much more sensible than ours, si man) of their presumably fair selves before we request fotos amongst our guy selves, see man.

See man and si man, see and si man.

If I had my eyes checked, would I then need to change my eye color on my license to plaid?

I greatly enjoy putting my pet chameleon on plaid cloth, si man.

The cheaper the egg, the better it tastes.

However, in regard to green eggs, in particular when accompanied by ham:

I will not eat them on a boat; I will not eat them with a goat, no man.

Not in a car. Not in a train. Not in the dark. Not in the rain, no man.

I will not eat them in a box; I will not eat them with a fox, no man.

I will not eat them in a house; I will not eat them with a mouse, no man.

I will not eat them here or there; I will not eat them ANYwhere, no man.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: To get away from Colonel Sanders, si man.

Non-Rant: Thanks to everybody for keeping this thread down to six new pages since last night, gee man. I was able to scope all the rest of VJ and still remain semicoherent (???!, man) within this one, see man.

Only 2:30 a.m. on a worknight? I'm slipping, zzz man.

No hunner bucks back, and lucky if you can get your GPS to work again. Wow, now there's a company that wants repeat business.

Cary, you'll get a kick out of this one.......

so here's my bout with Navionics today after I finally got through....

Navionics WAS a world famous maker of nautical and wilderness charts and maps.

So after hurricane Sandy, I figured I better update my nautical charts. Starting with the one I use most often for the East Coast.

No problem, 100 bucks later I'm updated.....

Except, my GPS will not boot up with this new updated chip.

So today I got through.....

Me: this is what I did, and now it doesn't work

Nav: Oh yea, the updates don't work with certain GPS's

Me: Oh really, you guys think you should mention that before you charge me a hundred bucks for the download?

Nav: good thing you have a _________GPS, it you had a Hummingbird, you'd really be outta luck...

Me: Well, what do I do?

Nav: OK delete this and that, lemme give you a list.....

Me: OK but you're telling me to delete all this #######, but what about my hunnit bucks?

Nav: Oh buy you'll still have the updated East Coast charts....

Me: But you're telling me to delete UK, Th West Coast, Alaska, Hawaii...etc I won't have that anymore. I paid for all of that with the original purchase.

Nav: Well, why don't you try what I said and see if it works first....

Me: you mean to tell me you don't know whether if it'll work still?

Nav: I can't be sure...

Me: well, do you have the original 1 of these 1XGs you can send me? without the update?

Nav: no, all we have are the new ones.

Me: You are saying that tens of thousands of boaters are out of luck because your update doesn't benefit their machine?

Nav: yes, we're sorry...we're wait5ing for the GPS makers to update their machines...

Me: You ever heard of a computer company designing their hardware around a software program?

Nav: no

Me: then how do you expect GPS makers to design their machines around your maps?

Nav: we're sorry

Me: thanks for your help. Let me see if I can get my machine to work.

I just got back from Toronto. So irritated with my girlfriend as she is giving immigration advice to another girlfriend of ours who wants to marry her American boyfriend. She told her to just cross the border, don't tell CBP that you are going down there to get married and then get married. We had a huge fight about this. She thought I was stupid to go thru the whole K1 process when I could have just done what she did.

Yep, I'm the stupid one because I followed the rules while her hotshot lawyer, who charged her $15,0000, advised her to lie to CBP agents on her intent to enter the US and possibly face a lifetime ban if she got caught.
