Yes, why not walk 20+ miles?

See Asia was even going to run from Poland to save the spot rofl.gif

BTW the walk was a poor attempt at humor cray5ol.gif

Had a fantastic morning. Signed a new lease for 11 months for here because we're simply not ready to find a house etc yet... went grocery shopping and everything is full. Yay.

I'm gonna make coffee.. we ran out and I convinced hubs to buy beans instead of ground because then it works better in the french press.. He was so hungry i coulda got away with any food i wanted this morning (except my cage free eggs... he demanded normal eggs.. poor chickens)

Need to find a farmer's market.

You must forgive Nola... I'm sure I'd be too angry for myself for forgetting the papers, to get that humor too... ;)

For me the cage free eggs are much more tasty (sp?) than the normal ones...

Buy chickens and get your own eggs then. How much were free roaming chicken eggs compared to caged chicken eggs? Having been around chickens, I doubt if they're smart enough to know when they're in a cage or not though until the hawk swoops down and grabs them.

That's two people now! ohmy.png

I guess when I get home I better let all those eggs out of the box and let them run free on my deck. I hope the squirrels don't eat them all though laughing.gif

Now, that attempt at humor was brilliant! laughing.gif

Sometimes my humor works, other times its poor at best. Was out with some friends of my wife last week and made an adult joke. One of her friends is an Asian immigrant from an extremely conservative family. It took 10 minutes of explaining what the joke was and she still didn't get it. A little more talk went on about other things for about 5 minutes and suddenly she starts laughing. Everyone looked at her, and with a very red face she says "I got it". rofl.gif

K, I'm out.

Yesterday they showed "The Fellowship Of The Ring" so of course I had to watch it...

Haven't watch the whole movie tho, because I fell asleep while watching it, which was around 11pm biggrin.png

Then I woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep sad.png

So I'm tired and have to go to bed.

BTW - have any of you watched the movie "Now I see you"? I saw it last week and was impressed that I liked it that much smile.png

And tomorrow I'm gonna see "White House Down". Mmm... Channing Tatum... laughing.gif

Oh, and almost all movie titles are translated to Polish. Wanna know what they came with this movie?

"World in flames" rofl.gif

This is all that cage free really is:

cagefree-1024x768.jpg

The farmer's market is a good bet and you can always ask to visit the farm and see how they raise the chickens. I would. I think free range from a local farm is probably the best.

All I can see with this setup is lots of poop in the food and water. Oh and a lot more broken eggs. I had friends that kept chickens this way back in the 60's and 70's. Chickens aren't too smart, as they have a brain about the size of a man's thumbnail.

Cary, you'll get a kick out of this one.......

so here's my bout with Navionics today after I finally got through....

Navionics WAS a world famous maker of nautical and wilderness charts and maps.

So after hurricane Sandy, I figured I better update my nautical charts. Starting with the one I use most often for the East Coast.

No problem, 100 bucks later I'm updated.....

Except, my GPS will not boot up with this new updated chip.

So today I got through.....

Me: this is what I did, and now it doesn't work

Nav: Oh yea, the updates don't work with certain GPS's

Me: Oh really, you guys think you should mention that before you charge me a hundred bucks for the download?

Nav: good thing you have a _________GPS, it you had a Hummingbird, you'd really be outta luck...

Me: Well, what do I do?

Nav: OK delete this and that, lemme give you a list.....

Me: OK but you're telling me to delete all this #######, but what about my hunnit bucks?

Nav: Oh buy you'll still have the updated East Coast charts....

Me: But you're telling me to delete UK, Th West Coast, Alaska, Hawaii...etc I won't have that anymore. I paid for all of that with the original purchase.

Nav: Well, why don't you try what I said and see if it works first....

Me: you mean to tell me you don't know whether if it'll work still?

Nav: I can't be sure...

Me: well, do you have the original 1 of these 1XGs you can send me? without the update?

Nav: no, all we have are the new ones.

Me: You are saying that tens of thousands of boaters are out of luck because your update doesn't benefit their machine?

Nav: yes, we're sorry...we're wait5ing for the GPS makers to update their machines...

Me: You ever heard of a computer company designing their hardware around a software program?

Nav: no

Me: then how do you expect GPS makers to design their machines around your maps?

Nav: we're sorry

Me: thanks for your help. Let me see if I can get my machine to work.

Hey LawyerMan - I smell a class action lawsuit - you were seeking a million dollars? might garner that in fees, if you know how to successfully market and build a case.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Unless they are going to be out in the field and actually free range, I don't see the point.

____

So second time I went I tried to get in the only parking garage and the height limit was 6'. My truck is about 6'2". fjsfjslkfjslkfjsklflksfsklfwiofw. I really don't want to pay for private parking.

Better that than this:

chickens-11.jpg

Personally I'd like to have my own chickens, but we live in an apartment and will be doing so for the next year. I'd rather buy farm fresh than cage free, but cage free is better than nothing. I used to buy only organic free run eggs in Alberta (free range isn't available because having outdoor access all the time isn't feasible in Alberta where it can get below -40 in winter routinely.)

Cost difference in AB was 1.99 for dozen eggs vs 5.89 per dozen.

Here it's a lot smaller and yes Asia, I agree that the organic or cage free eggs taste better. I prefer farm fresh eggs and will be visiting the farmer's market the sunday after next (when we'll prolly be out of eggs) to find some. If not I"ll try Sprouts.
