Bonus points for reclaiming a 55 to 70 inch old-school DLP HDTV for free, from either CL or freecycle.

Dog Couches are easy to get, so no bonus points there.

I'll give you half bonus points for reclaiming a beer fridge, though ..

Have 52 inch DLP, have beer fridge in basement and freezer in garage.....

What's a dog couch?

dog couch - typically found in man caves - a leather couch reclaimed from elsewhere, where mostly it was dogs that utilized it (for sleeping or whatnots)

Have 52 inch DLP,

No bonus points then, as the metric starts at 55 for receiving bonus points. 52 is not bonus-able.

No, there's no negotiation on that, either.

Also 'having' is not the same as 'reclaiming', so minus 500 points for simply shifting a tv inside the house.

Steve-O - I am thinking you not focus much on reclamation and getting free stuff. ;)

that's not a bedroom - that's an adult playroom !!!

since yer inside the house now, let the scantiness begin !!!!

(I fully expect you to stay off of VJ for the next 10 hours, and no, you don't have to report back on said scantiness )

When you figure out how to drag my husband away from DAOC lemme know... Well besides the obvious because I'll be honest, I'm not in the mood for scantiness atm.

But no I won't report back later if I am. :P

I'm terribly sorry, lass - it's well known how to drag a man away from his 'stuff'.

Would it help the mood if'n you judiciously applied a modicum of oil, to appear to 'glisten' in all the right places?

Just a thought.

But free stuff has coodies...

I'm betting one of the nail grils has a portable steamer machine, something analogous to a Shark Steamer. It's just a bet , though - you'll have to call around to confirm.

Darnell, I know virtually nothing about compost and that stuff. I just clip, prune, weed-whack, rake, plant, etc. The basics. wink.png

RANT: My Dad is a real pain in the butt. We're killing ourselves to make his house look good, and he invited a bunch of people over today without even telling me. Now I have to stop doing yard work and wash dishes, vacuum, clean the bathroom, etc. He obviously has no shame about how dumpy his house looks right now, or is just assuming I'll clean it. Both options make me furious. mad.gif It's a huge house, too, so even though we've been doing it bit by bit for the past three weeks, there's still several parts of it left to do. I have a headache.

part-Fhoure - uhm - read up at instructables.com when the guests have settled in at the house, that's a great excuse to not be in their presence. There's many designs there for composting systems, composting bins - most not require purchasing real materials for construction. In a pinch, just make a pile and surround it on 3 sides with some reclaimed plywood.

Basically, all of the organic matter you cut away (except for limbs) can be composted. There are easy designs to make composting bins, also ... You can add grass clippings to yer compost, as well - when I first started doing this - I would drive around in an old pickup and pick up 60 to 100 bags of grass clippings on the days that the city picks them up and take em straight to my composting area. Later, I learned, if you left the grass clippings in the bags, for a week, getting full sunlight, it speeds the decay and creates a really useful green sponge mass that can be instantly applied in yer garden - so no real mucking about with a composting bin or system.

Aha ! Impromptu Party !

Let's make it an Impromptu House Cleaning Party !!

How, you ask? That's the easy bit. write out the party invitations on yer puter, print out 20 pieces on yer printer, and give each invitation to each guest as they walk in the door.

On each invitation, have a single task that can be completed in 20 minutes or less, so each guest will be working ON ONE THING for 20 minutes (or less).

Saves a lot of time and silliness, and (maybe) yer father won't do this again (throw a party without telling you)
