Well, it seems I lost 9kg (19 pounds or so in Imperial) over the past 4 weeks. And I had my band fill yesterday without any major issues though it took 3 attempts for the consultant to find the entry

Have not yet been on a boat or a dock.

Is a blue claw a crab? I saw a wee one dead on the beach on one of our walks. Close as Ive been to one. Other than the yummy crab cake sandwich I had last weekend at a restaurant.

When I get out with hubby for walks, it makes me so happy to be living here and its so pretty. Im a contented little hiker. Soon to be a thin little hiker I hope.

Thanks Hiker. I have been quite busy since I posted that. I ran 23k yesterday and next Sunday for our long run we are running 26k.

Novembro - thanks for the doggie gif. I sent it to my wife, she laughed and laughed .. Of course, now she is researching about this breed, so that's a plus. Her last dog was similar, and someone stole it in Wuhan. She cried for days..

Sincerely sorry for both you dudes.

My dad was an unpretentious saint who always put me (and Mama T-B.) first and who was always there for us. I idolize him, for all the right reasons, to this day. I could never hold a candle to him. However, if I can emulate even a fraction of the caliber of dad that he was to me, little Mini-Bone (his namesake) will be very fortunate, si man.

Sometimes I just walk away from the upper forums, and from a few facebook forums I'm a member of. The amount of people who just want to give advice, even when they know nothing about the issue is incredible. It gets even worse when you're blasted for giving decent advice. I got blasted not long ago for telling someone they needed a CR-1, they were married, they were talking applying for K-3 because a friend told them to. Then someone else said do a K-1, its faster. The people were married already!

In some threads, it's the blind leading the deaf. One of us just needs to inject some common sense, and then another of us will be along to give support, and so on, si man.

I've long concluded -- from reflecting on my dad's life example -- that selfishness is the least attractive of human qualities. Emulating his "selflessness without being self-sacrificial" needs to be my life goal, see man.

Sincerely sorry for both you dudes.

What Steve has said about his father and you about yours reminds me of my own situation.

For my own father, nothing was ever good enough. My grades could always be better at school - even if I got an A or an A+/A*, then it was "why didn't you get 100%?". The amount of pressure I was under as a kid was massive, same for my sister. But that's not even the half of it. Both of us as well as my Mother were subject to physical, mental and even sexual abuse. As a result of all of it, my own mental state a few years ago broke down completely and my Mum now has a brain tumour.

On the flipside, my step-Dad is one of the most caring men you could meet. He's ex British Army and now serves as a trainer at a nearby barracks so he can be a bit gruff and to the point at times but he cares for me and my sister like we're his own and like he's been married to my Mum for all of her life. For example he went to my bank yesterday to them out for taking my money from the government to pay "charges". And I don't mean just a discussion, he literally tore the guy apart verbally. And he'll do it again until something is done.

So I sort of know what both of you are talking about when it comes to fathers. I know one thing for certain is that I made a promise that I wouldn't turn into my biological father when it came to my own kids. Part of the reason I want to train as a teacher when I emigrate as well.

Some of us (like myself) want to actually learn about the various situations that might crop up so we can actually give decent advice that isn't condescending or rude. At the point you get blasted for giving the correct and logical answer, I'd just say to walk away. You've done your job, if they won't listen then they're sealing their own fate.

Most of the time I hang back from giving advice for fear of being incorrect and having one of the veterans shout me down. Shouldn't be like that.
