Does she want to have her ears pierced?

I don't think Asian girls really get the choice. I'm kind of wondering why they weren't pierced before she left the hospital.

Is this a tradition/a cultural thing in Asia?

I can't say for all of Asia, but in my wife's country it is. Circumcision waits until boys are in their teens, while piercing a girls ears happens very early so they don't feel the pain and the mother can take care of it. The first one doesn't make any sense to me, the second does though.

God. If you have to do it at all, at least chop it off when they're little.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

I see.

So you think the circumcision shouldn't be done at all, or it should be done much earlier than it is?

And about piercing ears... I had mine pierced right before the first Communion... Since my ears started suppurating, and I was in pain, I had to take my silver earrings off after the big day.

And I couple of years later, I pierced my ears again. All by myself :D

Wearing earrings since then.

I believe circumcision should be done at birth. I can tell you, if I was a teenager, there's no way anyone was cutting there rofl.gif

Well it has been shown to prevent disease, even reduce incidents of HIV. But I can't imagine what its like to get it done as a teenager or adult.

Ooooh, I just saw a trailer of the second Percy Jackson's movie... So I got another movie to see biggrin.png

My daughter saw it... said it was awesome. She's made me promise to see it with her here. LOL

Hiker, Niki, you guys are awesome !!

Searching for the terms you guys used, the middle one is described as plain, pinpoint, and oxford.....

The first one can be described as Herringbone and Twill.....

The last is a combo of any of the above.....

You guys saved me a trip to HK.....

Now to find these suckers. Well, I'm in NY, so that can't be too hard......just gotta go to Manhattan.....

Her doctor does the piercing, you freaks of nature smile.png

OMG I told you!! Herringbone. You don't want to believe me... cray5ol.gif JERK!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOO!

Go to a real shop with real needles! Getting your ears pierced at a commecial shop (ie: Claire's) is like asking to be pierced with a dirty heroin needle by a drunk toddler.

Agreed. I want to find a nice spot in Denver to get my daughter's ear's pierced. I refuse to take her to place like Claires because my mom did that to me and the holes for my ears are mucked. I really should get them redone.

On a very happy note, I get to see my daughter tomorrow!!!!! YAY!!!!! yahoo.gif

Cary - I'm sorry for your loss. I was estranged from my mother from the age of 11 to her death. I sometimes thought to step in and try to repair things or do the Christian thing and sling forgiveness - but it was only thinking. I did learn how to shuck off the resentment and quell my desire for revenge, so that was a plus.

It's on you to show up at the funeral/whatever - but note that's mostly not to honor that person, it's more for your relatives to see you there. Closure is optional, and sometimes attendence can do that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The reduction is so small and easily compensated by teaching the boy how to clean himself properly. :)

So my daughter acted like a champ. upon learning that she was going to the doctor before ToysRus, she only trashed the car a little....

and she only needed 5 people to immobilize her to get her blood drawn and 2 shots injected.....

needless to say, she didn't want her ears pierced after that lol........

2 Disney Princess dolls later she was over it.......

Then off to the carousel.....

Then to her grandma so she can show her battle scars and get some sympathy........

I guess she had a pretty good day lol
