Well, it seems I lost 9kg (19 pounds or so in Imperial) over the past 4 weeks. And I had my band fill yesterday without any major issues though it took 3 attempts for the consultant to find the entry

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I gotta get my daughter a radio flyer wagon. Every kid needs a radio flyer of some sort.

A man walking on the sidewalk noticed up ahead that Little Johnny was wearing a red fireman's hat and sitting in a red wagon. It appeared that the wagon was being pulled slowly by a large Labrador Retriever. When he got closer to the boy, he noticed that Johnny had a rope tied around the dog's #######, which probably accounted for why the dog was walking so gingerly.

Smiling, he spoke to the little boy, "That's really a nice fire-engine that you have there, son. But I'll bet that the dog would pull you faster if you tied that rope around his neck."

"Yeah," Johnny replied. "But then I wouldn't have a siren!"

Si, man.

Was off of VJ (!!???) on Fri. in order to keep mow-lawning on a Fri.-eve schedule. This time almost didn't kill me. Afterwards -- sweating like a ####### -- I blew my nose. Amidst globs of snot, there appeared macromolecules of grass-clippings. Good to get that off my chest, see man.

Next time don't blow your nose on your chest and you won't have to remove the snot and grass clippings from it.

The pig is upside down! I don't know anyone who would serve lechon upside down. While in the Asian grocery store on Friday, I noticed beef pizzles available. I asked my wife if she wanted to eat some pizzle, but the reaction the joke was delayed, as I had to tell her what she was looking at.

I was in Harlem yesterday...and ate here.....

That's not upside down in la isla.....

You very foolish man....

Thankfully my wife understands me, as she playfully punched me and laughed while asking "Really?". Makes me wonder what they do with pork pizzles in her country. They don't waste a thing on a food animal, including cleaning and barbecuing the intestines of chickens, and using pork blood and ears in dishes.

The proper name for blood sausage is chorizos porkados hemoglobitos.....

In the Philippines they make a stew out of it called Dinuguan. It can be pretty tasty. I've tried the dish they make the pork ears into, but I wasn't impressed. Just a bit too chewy for me, with not enough flavor.

The poorest enclaves/ countries always made use of everything. I tried blood cake congee when I was abroad. It was very good, and probably quite nourishing.

I checked my marklars overnight - all is in place. wrote much overnight, as well, tomes full of marklar-related material.
