Dude go get it looked at. Do you have a fever?

No fever. You likes the webmd site, well me too.

in the section about appendix..

Obturator sign. The right obturator muscle also runs near the appendix. A doctor tests for the obturator sign by asking the patient to lie down with the right leg bent at the knee. Moving the bent knee left and right requires flexing the obturator muscle and will cause abdominal pain if the appendix is inflamed.

I'm making a tearing pain, each time I do a self-test using the above 'sign' ..

Na, not yet. I did call in and ask a few questions, being told to come now. I'm packing a bag, my P.A. is bringing me - I don't trust myself to drive at the moment.

Well for your part Steve, you love to talk about money and mention how much money you have all the time. It sounds like Tiff found a rich guy (because you remind us a lot and tell us how much things cost that you bought) and she has a fantasy about what it's like to be rich. And it seems like you have been giving her that fantasy. It's no wonder a guy who loves money attracts a girl who loves money.

And of course she has no idea about money because it seems like you haven't taught her. And if she "moved" to the US on a B2 at 18 to find a guy to marry, then it seems like her parents didn't teach her either.

It seems like a lot of this is wrapped up in "keeping up appearances." That everyone in the family wants other people to think that they have all the money in the world. And now it's gotten old.

I think Tiff is mostly to blame, but sometimes I think it's helpful to realize what part the other party had in creating this monster. You really talk about how much money you have all the time. I am of the belief that discussing money is bad manners and declassé.

So last Friday flies were starting to show up in the house in great numbers. I was guessing a drain trap on the lover level of the house had dried out and was letting flies in. So I killed the flies with a swatter, and ran water to all the drains making sure none were empty. Saturday morning, even more flies swarming around. Repeat the killing of flies, wondering where the heck they're all coming from but I've got brakes to fix in my Durango. So the wife gets up and starts house cleaning, while I run out to garage and start working on the truck. Taking all the tires off, inspecting each brake pad to see where the sound was coming from. None were down to metal on metal, but I was positive I was hearing a wear stip when I turned to the right. Turns out it was on the front drivers side, I could have sworn the sound was coming from the passenger side, but thats how those wheel sounds can play tricks on you. So its off to buy parts, return, start yanking out the old, putting in the new. One caliper bolt doesn't want to come loose, so I really put my weight into it, leaning on top of it, when it suddenly frees up and I face plant into the fender. One split lip, but not too bad. I'm hoping the swelling goes down before we go out tonight.

Suddenly I get a text from the wife, "Honey please come here". Slightly irritated as I'm covered in brake dust and grease, with a fat bleeding lip, but think what the heck, I need a break from this anyhow. I head into the lower level, do a quick hand wash to cut the quarter inch of grime on my hands, then head up to they kitchen where I find my distraught wife.

Me - What's up hon

Wife - SNAKE!!!

Me - Where?

Wife - IN THEEEERRRREEE (pointing with her lips towards the trash. Lip pointing in a Filipino thing, and surprisingly accurate once you learn to read it)

My wife has a horrible phobia about snakes.

So I lift the lid on the trash can and laugh, because I'm seeing a big pack of noodles she's thrown away because they turned out to be the wrong type.

Me - No snake honey, its noodles, see (as I point with my lips)

Wife - (peaking from behind me) No there's snakes, SNAKES in there. Little SNAAAAKESSSSS!!!!

Me - Where?

Wife - (reaches in and pushes on the plastic bag riming the top) Here near the to EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK ooooohhhhh snaaaaaaaakkkkkeeee

Now I'm spying a maggot crawling along the top of the trash can. BINGO here's the source of those damn flies.

Wife - GET IT OUT! Get is oooouuuuuuuuuuttttttt huhuhuhuhuh

I never did figure out what got thrown in the trash that it produced maggots. Had much too much to get done yet that day to open the bag and search it. My wife made me leave the entire trash can outside for fear if I brought it back in, the snakes would reappear. I was just happy to know where those damn flies were coming from and be rid of it. The trash goes out every week and any seafood left overs never goes in the kitchen trash can. Some darn fast growing flies what ever it was.

I'm just telling a story among friends. In tiffs defense, she didn't come to the USA looking for a rich husband, or a husband.

Didn't you say you live in NYC? Then you know the standard here. I talk about myself, not money. i use money in the context because its difficult to put a value on the situation about tiff and her family without talking about money.

I never said I was a rich guy. In America, no ones rich and no ones poor.

The whole issue here is about some gratitude. And I don't like to be called cheap and selfish. Especially when it comes from my wife.

I despise maggots. I very likely would have reacted like your wife, only yelling, OMFG get the maggots out of here, that's so gross. UGH!!! And stood on the other side of the kitchen. Kinda like when I see a big spider. (hubs is all... I like tarantulas.... not in my life will one ever be in my home... EVER!!! I'll have a snake first. )

I remember the first time I saw a cockroach... pretty much the same reaction...

You forget the power of age. When I was in my late teens I dated several men in their 30s and older. They seemed invincible to me at the time. I think Tiff has bought into the dream. Maybe some time apart would be good for the both of you, and your daughter.

Can't blame you about that Steve. But you're American, and Tiff is Malaysian. Totally different standards on what you do to help family and how you view things. Totally different ideas on many things. Like pink towels in man cave bathrooms.

At least when we're helping out my wife's family, they're always thankful because they're aware doing so isn't part of American culture. I think I'd grow resentful too if we separated everything and I saw my wife sending too much home. But the way we do it now, its a joint decision came made together.

Steve, tell her you are as cheap and as selfish as you need to be so that her and beth will have a nice life when you're gone. Don't apologize for it, it is what it is. It's not a bad thing. If anything it's bad to give away all you have. I feel selfish when I don't and my mother tells me I should be more selfish. She used to give me $100 at xmas to buy what I wanted, and I'd end up buying everyone else a present. It made me happy to do so. I prize being happy and having others around me happy. But that's what got me into the mess with my ex, the fight over being happy, which always wound down to money and time.

I suggest, that you put away the money you feel Beth will need to grow up into an account that can only be taken out for those kinds of expenses and then whatever else into a trust she can get as XX point in life. One of my best friends has a trust that she has to apply for the money. She can use it for things like buying a house, or going to school, but until she's in her 40s, I think, she can't just use it for anything else, everything has to be applied for and okayed.

In regards to gratitude, when people are used to having everything they want, it's hard for them to be thankful.
