The original Nathans is about 3 miles from my house, as is the Aquarium

in that Nathan's they still serve clams on the half shell, and lobsters.....yum yum.......

the Coney island ferris wheel is off to the left of that pic. And the aquarium is down the road to the left about 1/2 mile....nearing Sheepshead Bay...

to the right of that Nathans about 300 yards, is Kespan Park, home of the NY Mets farm team. great games. This whole area was under 10 feet of water during Sandy.

Personally I prefer Papaya King, but Nathan's mustard is great.

Gray's papaya king is the often unspoken of "The other NYC hotdog place" because they're overshadowed by Nathan's. Gray's papaya king is 2 locations in Manhattan. 5 bucks, 2 hot dogs and a soda.

And it truly is "when you're broke or hungry, or just in a hurry"

Nathans hotdogs is about 9 bucks for the same deal

The original nathans experience is unsurpassed. When you walk into the Coney Island store, it takes you back a century just as it was.

Everything in there is original, from 100 years ago. As if time stood still in it.....

but every new years eve at the coney island location, they offer 5 cent hotdogs. same price as 100 years ago.

There's no good hot dog joints up here in Canada.

When I lived in WI, they opened up this small stand called 'chicago style dogs' what a laugh.
