Well, it seems I lost 9kg (19 pounds or so in Imperial) over the past 4 weeks. And I had my band fill yesterday without any major issues though it took 3 attempts for the consultant to find the entry

Hiker, welcome to America :) I hope you had an enjoyable ride down to SC.

You're right, I need a break from my very high pressure job.

This year I've only gone on 2 vacations. 1 was the month long Asia trip. Usually I take 10 days every 2 months. plus days off in between.......

I got bit by a few mosquitoes 3 days ago and they've decided to itch like hell TODAY.

A man from Texas was spending his summer vacation in the Vermont hills. In the middle of his first night, four chickens roosting in a tree outside his window were disturbed by a cat and flew into his room. Half asleep, the guest batted wildly with a pillow until the fowls found their way out. Next morning, he declared enthusiastically, "Had a swell sleep. Think I'll spend all my vacations here. Saw only four mosquitoes all night, and they was just little ones."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This statement needs to be enshrined in the pantheon of All-Time Most Pertinent VJ Posts, gee man. The only thing worse than ovaries is the First Trimester, aarrgh man.

This is a the Filipino way. Also to Filipina, anything they did for their K-1 applies to everyone with a CR-1 and visa versa. Filipinos are just very helpful and always want to help out, even when they know nothing about something. If you get lost in the Philippines, you can always ask anyone for directions and you'll get an answer on how to get there. Doesn't matter if they know where the place is, they'll still give you directions. Its really rather comical. I bet someone could make a reality show on just asking Filipinos questions about things they know nothing about.

Illuminative, si man. However, it's just as often the American fiance/spouse who offers the wrong information. And how good is helpfulness if it leads people astray -- perhaps perilously so, in the immigration process -- huh man?

Why do I keep thinking Ecu is a province in the Philippines when you make these observations?

Ecu is kind of a brown color, isn't it?

If I used the more obvious "Ecua," I might as well type the whole name, which is a waste of energy, zzz man.
