Rant: Mrs. T-B. habitually stores socks, clean or dirty, by stuffing one inside the other.

This makes it gross when it comes time to launder the dirty ones, ick man. One -- or both -- will come out inside-out and still wadded-up. How efficient is THAT?

Furthermore, only once during this calendar year have I perceived an even number of socks to be washed (beyond mine), meaning Mrs. T-B.'s and Mini-B.'s. Two weeks ago, I washed 5 of Mini-B.'s socks and 3 of them didn't match any of the others, no man!

Just keep the damned socks separate and throw them into the respective laundry-basket. I will keep them straight for everybody, see man!

Can you talk her into clothes pinning the socks in pairs in the dirty hamper? In theory that could keep the pairs together...

It's a nexus 7 as well. Hubs said to shop around for a new screen and he'd put one on. Thank god he's electronically inclined. He made me feel better (i'm sure he wanted to throttle me at the same time but didn't say that) just by saying he could fix it. He bought a case for his on amazon as well and it took like 2 months to get. I've dropped my phone all over creation and it's never had an issue with the screen. So I guess I figured it would be okay. It just slid off my lap when I was outside reading (I bent over to look at my toe... and the one time I don't put it up on a flat surface... Sigh.)

I just wanted to get some vitamin D ffs! Well with the new screen I'll have to buy on ebay, I'll find a case on amazon too.

Most tablets and phones are made with gorilla glass, its much tougher than normal glass when getting dropped. The Nexus 7 was not made with gorilla glass, which was one of the things reviewers knocked it about when it came out.

I fold them back together in the hamper (AKA my floor pile) like where you take the tops of them and fold over.

Then I unfold them when tossing them in the basket to take to the laundromat.

OK so Germany takes over your country. Makes all the laws, is killing anyone they feel like it, and says you people run this camp, now gather up the jews, kill them, or we'll kill you. Now they want to put the blame on the Poles? I think I got that right.

You got that partly right, because the thing is that only Germans run those camps.

I'm not sure that the young Germans nowadays know that among their grandparents who were good people there were also tons on Nazis...

Of course there are examples of Poles, or Ukrainians, or other nationalities who collaborated with the Nazis. But sometimes the Germans keep forgetting who started the WWII and who had a plan to exterminate millions of people.

I'm not sure if I can explain it in an understandable way...

I broke my f*cking tablet

That sucks :(

grrr

It may need special tools to fix.. You can buy just the screen but it looks like it needs the back part too... So originally I thought about $30 but not it's closer to $75.... i mostly use it to read with, and an E-reader probably would have been the better choice for me to get, but like to play games and go on the internet too. My husband has had his twice as long and never a problem. I think i chucked the box too when I moved which makes me even more annoyed with myself (I figured, can't take it back to best buy in the USA when I bought it in Canada so why bother... ) so many wrongs here. seriously. okay I'm done with the internet for the day, i'm going to play skyrim since hubs isn't coming home for lunch either.

OK I thought the German ran them. Its you previous reply that made me think they made the Poles run them.

I'm sure there were even a lot of Germans in Germany at the time that didn't want to be involved with the exterminations. But once the war got going, to dissent was probably rather risky. But they didn't put a mad man in power. When I watch politics today, I can still see how that could easily happen again. Where I live, the state had a high percentage of German immigrants when the war started. There was a lot of debate if the USA should even be involved in the war, and considerable sympathy for Germany. But once the USA was attacked, that talk totally ended. Of course no one here knew they were exterminating entire populations at the time.

Sometimes some of them want people to think that Poles played a really high role in the whole extermination plan (just to lessen their responsibility for it).

And the thing is that they put Hitler there. They made him who he was.

Sure there were tons of people who didn't want and who weren't involved with the exterminations.

My grandparents (from my mother site) met in one of the farms in Germany. They were treated really good, could sent some goodies to their families in Poland. They got married there (my grandma's wedding dress was made from American parachute ;)), they had a chance to stay there after war (tho they didn't). They stayed in touch with the German family for many years after the war was ended. That family used to sent some money, some goodies (like chocolate and all the yummy stuff), they even visited my grandparents once or twice, and my grandparents went there once as well. So I know that there were some good Germans, just like there were some bad Poles.

Oh, believe me I know that this could easily happen again. We have some far-right politicians here (the Germans have them as well, and some other countries too, I'm sure), who would love to see our country as strong as the Reich was at the beginning of war (while using some of their methods). Thankfully their views aren't not supported by majorities.

too cheap to buy a god damned case, too cheap to buy the extended best buy warranty, and i lean over while it's on my lap, it falls and breaks a corner of the screen.

I know, right? I'm a cheap b@stard, also, so my first case came from BigLots, as part of a tablet kit, for 10 bucks.

Then I got some cute 'tough-girl' purses that fit perfectly, at a charity resale shop, for 50 cents/ea (I bought 5, as I like the colors)

I am h3ll on cases for my tablet - but I never use a tablet for VJ stuff.

If'n yer gonna be cheap in the future:

1. never pay retail

2. never buy new.

3. stay away from goods made in china.. ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Next time I'll buy a damn case and stop being such a tightwad. LOL!

Still works for reading the book because you can use any part to turn the page. I moved the icons away from the smooshed corner so they're still useable too, plus it rotates all the way around so if I can't touch something on the screen, I just rotate the tablet and voila. I'm sure hubs can fix the screen if we buy a new one, but as I normally use it for reading, we may not bother. Initially we bought them to use for Skype but since we get to sleep beside each other every night, that point is moot. :)

Be happy for what you have, not what you haven't. Lesson for the last two days, apparently I'd forgotten and the universe needed to remind me.

There's the right attitude for it. I bought mine as predominately an ereader to. Still I'll connect to FB on it, and occasionally use it to connect to here, but this site isn't very table friendly.

They always hassle me because of my US number.

Today the lady was upset because she was the owner and it would be 'long distance' if she had to call me.
