Crazy, I got a text yesterday stating that my item is on its way to me and will be delivered on July 4th 2013.... And my interview only was on Monday!! (July 1st).

Crazy Fast London Embassy, keep it up!

When I filled out the courier form after the interview the lady and I joked around about how long it is going to take to get the visa in the mail and she said she heard rumors that somebody got their passport back within 4 days and we both laughed :D Especially considering independence day the courier said they proably won't deliver in the next 2 weeks.

So what a nice independence day surprise! Could have booked my flight sooner after all, but oh well!

Oh and the "sealed package" is more like a giant parcel, I have no idea where I should carry that as my carry on luggage is not big enough to accommodate that thing.

the journey is finally over it seems.... From NOA1 to getting my visa in hand barely 3 months. Wow! Let the packing begin!!

2 weeks seems super long - I think most folks get it back within 7 days. Joanna on the K1 thread got hers in 4 days (last person I followed), so maybe the delivery last was just being pessimistic to not get your hopes up knowing they have a US public holiday coming?

Anyway, glad it came so fast! Yay! Flights booked?

You are soooo so so lucky to have had your interview on Monday and not Tuesday (like I did!)

I took one look at the calendar once I got the date confirmed, noticed that Independence Day was 2 days after my interview, and my heart sank...I KNEW it would mean a delay...alas here we are and the visa hasn't yet been issued. That means it won't be issued until (hopefully) Friday, won't be handed to the courier until Monday and I won't be able to travel until Tuesday...and that's if all goes to plan with it!!

Depressing, but I'm really pleased for you.....!

The visa said printed on July 1st and when I got home from the interview and checked my case status it already said that the visa had been printed (about 2 hours after my interview).

Speedy Speedy! I guess the background checks didnt take too long, my name is quite unique and according to the interview lady they have never had a person from my country applying for a visa at the London embassy....

Cool for you! I think another reason it was so quick is you were first up Monday morning, meaning they don't have any from the previous day to process first....crossing my fingers I hear about mine tomorrow!

Congrats! The sooner, the better!

And I was going to ask the same question as Angela256z, your I-130 got approved within a month, Texas! How did that happen? Is your US citizen spouse in the military and stationed abroad?

Thanks.

I went through the DCF route and I think Lost did so too - that usually is much quicker than the standard NVC route but obviously only works when the spouse has been living abroad for a while as well.

Also didn't have any RFEs and could send my application directly to the embassy to deal with.

However, the downside of DCF is that you are going to run into trouble when it comes to filing your affidavit of support (which you take to the interview and can't file beforehand) as non-US sourced income does not count.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry to get into this forum out of nowhere! but, rascalflatt, I was there on July 2nd as well and haven't received my visa either :(

I am kinda relieved that's not just me, but this last stint of the "waiting game" is so annoying!!

Anyways, would you let me know when you get yours? I'll do the same :)

Good Luck!
